Divide the class into two groups and then ask them to role-play the Grammar Focus.
Let students try to recite it.

Guessing game:
Ask the students to look at the picture in 1a on page 43.
Then ask students to name all the buildings in the picture.
Have the students work in groups. One person chooses a building in the picture of 1a, but doesn't tell anyone which building it is. The others ask questions like those in the activity 3c until they guess which building it is. Several students can take turns to choose the building, the others will guess.

There be 句型
一、语法概述;There be句型表示“某地(或某时)存在有某人(或某物),而并非某地(某人、某物或某时)拥有什么东西”
二、【易混辨析】there be结构与have/has
there be表示“某地或某时有某人/事/物”,强调存在。
There is a watch on my desk. 在我书桌上有一块手表。(不一定是我的)
have/has表示“拥有”,强调所属关系。I have a watch. 我有一块手表。(这块手表属于我)
三、结构:
1、There is + 单数可数名词/不可数名词 + 地点状语.
2、There are + 复数名词 + 地点状语.
四、主谓一致:
There be句型的实质句式为“倒装句”。 谓语动词be要与主语保持人称和数的一致。如果be动词后面的主语为两个或两个以上的名词,be动词要和离它最近的那个名词在数上保持一致,即遵循“就近原则”。看下面一组例句:
There is a girl under the tree. 树下有一个女孩。
There are two boys under the tree. 树下有两个男孩。
There is a girl and two boys under the tree. 树下有一个女孩,两个男孩。
There are two boys and a girl under the tree. 树下有两个男孩,一个女孩。
五、一般疑问句及答语
There be句型的一般疑问句变化是将“be动词放在句首”,再在句尾加上问号即可,此为“调整法”。
但同时要注意:当肯定句中有some时,要将其改为any(否定变化也一样)。
陈 述 句:There is some water on Mars.
一般疑问句:Is there any water on Mars 肯定回答: Yes, there is.否定回答: No, there isn't. 陈 述 句:There are some fish in the water.
一般疑问句:Are there any fish in the water 肯定回答: Yes, there are. 否定回答: No, there aren't.
六、对地点状语提问:
提问地点当然用“Where”,其形式为“Where is \ are+主语 ”。
陈 述 句: There is a computer on the desk.
特殊疑问句: Where is the computer

2. 根据现实生活中的真实情况与学生进行对话,从而引出目标语言 Is/Are there------ Yes, there is / are. No, there isn’t / aren’t. 学生易于理解接受。
3. 图片形象直观,且容易引起学生的兴趣。这样就自然学习了方位介词in, on, next to, in front of, behind, between, across from, near的具体用法。
Disadvantages【不足】课堂时间有限,There be 句型变换和练习时间很紧张。
