friendly作形容词,意为“友好的”,由“friend(名词)+ly”构成。“名词+ly”变成的形容词还有love+ly→lovely“可爱的”;live+ly→lively“充满活力的”。
I like dogs because they’re friendly and smart. 我喜欢狗,因为它们既友好又聪明。
◎用法总结:friendly是形容词,意为“友好的”,其反义词为unfriendly (不友好的)。常用短语为be friendly to sb.,意为“对某人友好”。
如:
The people in our city are very friendly. 我们城市的人很友好。
We want to be friendly to the students in Class One. 我们想对一班的学生友好。
