Section A (1a~2d)
单元话题 世界知识
教 材 分 析 本单元是人教版八年级英语下册第七单元,包括四个板块的内容(Section A、Grammar Focus、Section B和Self Check)。 这四个板块基本上都围绕着“世界知识”这一话题展开,从珠穆朗玛峰、中国国宝大熊猫等内容分别阐述了地理和自然的相关内容。本单元通过呈现地理知识,用数字描述世界之最等相关地方,运用同级比较、比较级和最高级结构对具体事实进行比较。这一话题非常贴近学生的实际生活,容易激发学生的学习兴趣。因此在教学过程中,教师应充分调动学生的积极性,鼓励他们大胆开口,同时引导学生了解有关地理和自然的相关知识。
教 材 分 析 Section A
该部分有3个模块:第一模块围绕“自然地理之最”展开la内容,进行听力训练(1b)和口语训练(1c); 第二模块的内容从我国人口、历史和河流的话题内容入手,将学生带入地理与人文语境中,并进行听力训练(2a~2b) 和口语训练(2c~2d)。第三模块就“Qomolangma—the Most Dangerous Mountain in the World ”这一话题展开阅读技能及语言学习的综合训练(3a~3c)。
Grammar Focus
对所学语言结构进行总结,包括本单元的重要知识点——数字、比较级和最高级的具体用法。
教 材 分 析 Section B
该部分有4个模块: 第一模块通过数字比较大象和大熊猫(1a);第二模块就数字和熊猫的相关信息进行听力训练;第三模块通过2a中给出的词汇,引导学生谈论大熊猫,并引导学生阅读关于大熊猫的报道;该模块还根据阅读材料设计了配套的练习(2c~2e),使学生能更好地掌握这部分内容;第四模块通过创设情境,让学生了解鲸的处境和保护鲸的方式,引导学生展开写作活动。这部分的设计理念是在训练学生口语交际能力的基础上,提高学生的书面表达能力及语言组织能力,拓展学生的想象力。
Self Check
该部分有3个模块:第一模块要求学生写出所给形容词的比较级和最高级;第二模块让学生归纳三个动词的搭配,并组成语块,添加宾语,扩充语块搭配。第三模块要求学生选择合适的程度副词完成句子,并归纳程度副词修饰比较级的用法。

● China has the biggest population in the world. 中国是世界第一人口大国。
population是集体名词,意为“人口;人口数量”,无复数形式。常与定冠词the连用, population单独作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。如:
India's population has reached over 1.4 billion by September 8th, 2023. 截止到2023年9月8日,印度人口已超过14亿。
population常见用法如下:
(1)表示人口“多”或“少”时,常用large、big或 small修饰,而不能用much/many或little/few修饰。如:
Singapore has a small population.新加坡人口少。
Shanghai has a larger population than that in many other cities.上海的人口比许多其他的城市都多。
(2)分数或百分数修饰population作主语时,谓语动词常用复数形式。如:
About sixty percent of the population in that country are farmers.那个国家大约有百分之六十的人是农民。
(3)询问人口数量时,用“What's the population of... ”或“How large is the population of . .. ”,不能用how many或how much提问。如:
What's the population of your hometown =How large is the population of your hometown 你家乡的人口是多少
(4)表示“某地有多少人口”,用“...have/has a population of+数字”或“the population of... is+数字”。如:
