In recent years, many parents have spent much time and money planning their children’s holidays. It shows the anxiety and fear of parents that their children will fall behind other classmates during the summer. To keep their children go on with study, parents try to fill the holiday with different courses.
However, China has introduced a new policy (政策) recently to stop young students from having too much homework and too many after-school classes. Katie Booser is a third-grade teacher at Franklin Elementary School in Santa Barbara. Every day she let 36 students repeat words like “I believe in myself”, “I am strong”, and “I am smart” after her. This is something she has 37 in every class for the past 10 years.
