2. cut ourselves 割伤我们自己
(1) cut是动词,意为“切割;割伤;剪开;截断;削减”。
常用词组有:cut up 切碎;切成小块 cut down 砍倒 cut off 切除 。
e.g. Please don't cut yourself.请不要割伤你自己。
Could you cut it up,please 你能把它切碎吗?
cut作名词,意为“切口;伤口;删减”。
(2) ourselves是反身代词,意为“我们自己”。反身代词的构成是在物主代词(my,her,our,your)及人称代词宾格(it,him,them)后加self(单数)或selves(复数)。反身代词不能用作主语。
e.g. Mr Shut bought himself many good things.

hurt
(1)hurt作及物动词,意为“使受伤,使弄痛”,过去分词和过去式都是hurt。例如:

I hope you haven’t hurt yourself. 但愿你没有受伤。
(2) hurt 既可指肉体上的伤害,也可指精神上、感情上的伤害。例如:
You hurt her feelings when you said she was fat.
你说她胖,伤害了她的感情了。
I don’t mean to hurt you. 我并非有意伤害你。
hurt作不及物动词,意为“疼痛”。例如:
My feet hurt when I walk. 我走路时脚疼。
I caught a cold and my head hurt. 我感冒了而且头痛。

happen“发生,碰巧”,是不及物动词。
1) sth. happen十时间/地点,“某地/某时发生了某事”

2) sth. happen to sb. “某人发生了某事(常指不好的事)

Zhu Keming never thought he would be a hero one day, but he was just that on Saturday when he saved the lives of six runners during the mountain marathon(马拉松) in Baiyin, Gansu Province, in which 21 people lost their lives.
It started off as a normal day for the 49-year-old shepherd, who was taking care of his more than 30 sheep on the mountainside. But soon the weather was terrible, with rainfall and hail(冰雹). But he was awakened at 2 p.m. by an unusual sound that was not coming from his sheep. The sound that woke Zhu was the cry of a runner in the marathon.
