In recent years, many parents have spent much time and money planning their children’s holidays. It shows the anxiety and fear of parents that their children will fall behind other classmates during the summer. To keep their children go on with study, parents try to fill the holiday with different courses.
However, China has introduced a new policy (政策) recently to stop young students from having too much homework and too many after-school classes. A Xinhua reporter visited several training centers around a primary school in Shenyang, capital of northeast China’s Liaoning Province, and only found empty classrooms. Marc was in the water watching the big waves at the Pipeline, Hawaii. The Pipeline has some of the biggest waves and is considered as the most dangerous place on the planet for surfing (冲浪). When Drew Mascotti graduated from high school, he got a job sending pizzas. But soon he realized that it wasn’t what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. So he took a night class at a local tech school to see if welding (焊接)—which joins two metals together with heat—was a skill that “was going to stick.”

Born in 2000, Chen Guanfeng is known as “little Su Bingtian”. On May 13th, 2023, the young athlete took part in Guangzhou Men’s 4×100m Relay Race (接力赛) and helped his team win the first place.

　　In my early childhood, I was often surprised when I saw my father making a small number of money with difficulty. Being a child, I was unable to understand him. For 16-year-old Ma Yifei, the violin performance of the Beijing 2022 Olympic theme song, Snowflakes, was her best present for sports players all over the world.
Even though snowflakes (雪花) are connected with winter, she let others feel warmth, hope and light through her performance.
Ma went blind at the age of two because of an illness. She became interested in music when she was young. She started to learn to play the piano at five and the violin at nine, experiencing the “colorful” music through sound and feelings.

　　Recently, I’ve found many old photos of Mom, Dad, David, me and my first dog Coco. They meant a lot to me. I wondered how to keep them forever.
Luckily, my son used a new app to clear up and improve some of the old photos. Looking at them brought back so many loving and happy memories. I even used one as my computer screen saver (屏保).
