Video script:
Librarian: Hello everyone! I’m very pleased to tell you that the library plans
to add 200 new books next month. And I’m asking you, Book Club members, to
recommend what books we should buy. You might want to know about the books
that have been added to our library in the past year, so let me say something
about that.
We have 30 new autobiographies and biographies. Most of them are about
important historical figures. They aren’t very popular, though. Some of them
have never been borrowed. We also bought 20 poetry collections last year.
Like autobiographies and biographies, however, they aren’t very popular.
There are 20 new plays. Students enjoy reading plays, and they become more
popular when students need to perform plays for class or club activities.
The library also added 30 short story collections and 300 novels. Of the 300
novels, one third are modern novels and the rest are classic novels. The novels
include more than 50 adventure stories and nearly 70 romances. There are
about 60 historical novels and twice as many science fiction novels.
