本单元主题语境是“人与自然”,涉及的主题语境内容是学习英语、探索英语。本单元从介绍英语的历史开始,依次呈现了英语语言的多样性和创造性、英语构词法、英式英语与美式英语的差异、学生不熟悉的英语表达、英语学习中易被误解的表达等学习内容,丰富学生对英语的认知,激发学生学习英语的兴趣。 2.需要设计2个课时的作业,它们分别是第一课时:学生能够运用单元所学辨析语言的文化的差异性,了解英式英语和美式英语的差异;第二课时:描述个人在英语学习过程中的误解、理解英语的多样性;反思自己在英语学习过程中遇到的问题,创造性地提出英语学习的新方法。 3.通过第一课时的翻译句子,补充文本阅读材料等形式引导学生表达不同的language items表达的不同意义,使学生能注意导致这种语言的现象,以此初步明白英式英语与美式英语的差异性。接下来在第二课时让学生在明白语言的差异性的基础上,了解语言的不规则性、多样性和创造性,而正由于这一特性,所以我们常常会引起一系列的误解,从而引导学生用自己的语言解释误解产生的原因,并由此进一步让学生反思自己在英语学习过程中遇到的问题,并创造性地提出英语学习的新方法。

发展 性作 业 作业一 1.任务型阅读。阅读下面的短文,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Avoid Misunderstanding Idioms (习语) An idiom is a phrase or expression whose meaning is not always straightforward or easy to understand. An example would be when someone says, "You can't judge a book by its cover." The meaning is that you don't know who someone is, or what something is by their appearance. (1) ______ You will come across some newer ones that you haven't heard before. When this happens, here are some ways for you to get an idea about what is being said. (2) ______ This advice applies when you hear some odd phrases in a conversation. You have to consider what the general context is in the conversation, and from there you will be able to make a guess of how the idiomatic expression connects to the conversation. Of course, this requires that you listen actively to the conversation and that your mind is not somewhere else. (3) ______ If you want to make sure your understanding is correct, you may want to change the sentence into simple language and ask the person you are talking to if the meaning is correct. It never hurts to try to make something that you have heard in a conversation clearer. If you don't ask, you don't learn. (4) ______ Body language can give you hints to help you understand confusing phrases. If you see that someone has expressive facial expression and gestures, and that he may be joking, consider this when trying to understand an idiomatic expression. Some of these expressions may not have a good and pleasant meaning if the words are taken literally (字面地). However, if you connect together all other information you are given in the conversation, you will realize that it has a totally different meaning. (5) ______ There's no better way to become more familiar with idiomatic expressions than toread all different types of resources. For example, you will find a lot of idiomatic expressions in novels. What's also good about this is that since you are reading it and going at your own pace, you actually have the opportunity to check the meaning by yourself. After that, if you see the same expression in another sentence, you'll better understand its true meaning. A. Consider the context of the sentence. B.
