倒装句
一．完全倒装（Full Inversion）
谓语动词完全置于主语之前的句子，便是完全倒装句 → 两种句型
1. 表示地点或方位的副词或介词短语，如here，there，up，down，in，away，off，out，in the room，on the wall等，置于句首且主语是名词。
e.g. In front of my house stands a big tree.
（注意：在这种形式的倒装句中，名倒代不倒（即主语是名词时才进行倒装）。同时谓语动词的时态通常是一般现在时与一般过去时。） e.g. Out rushed the children. / Out they rushed.
2. such置于句首时。 （注意：such后的be动词应与其后的“真正的主语”保持一致）
e.g. Such was Albert Einstein, a simple man and the 20th century’s greatest scientist.
二．部分倒装（Partial Inversion）
只把谓语的一部分（多为助动词、系动词be或情态动词）置于主语之前的句子，叫部分倒装句 → 三种句型
1. only修饰副词、介词短语，且放在句首时。
e.g. Only in this way can we learn English well.
注意点：
（1）Only修饰状语从句时，主句倒装而从句不可倒装。 e.g. Only when he returned did we find out the truth.
（2）Only修饰主语时，句子不可倒装。 e.g. Only he can answer the question.
2. 否定副词never，nor，not，hardly，little，seldom等置于句首时
e.g. Never before have I seen such a moving film. = I have never seen such a moving film before.
3. 六个重要的固定句型
（1）“so + be/have/助动词/情态动词 + 主语” → “……也是如此”
e.g. He came last night, and so did I.
（注意：若句意不是“……也是如此”，而仅是对前面内容的肯定或附和，那么句子不可使用倒装结构。）
e.g. A: It is hot. （天真热。） B: So it is. （的确如此。）
（2）“…neither/nor + be/have/助动词/情态动词 + 主语” → “……也不这样”
e.g. Lily can’t ride; neither/nor can Lucy.
（3）“so + adj./adv. … + that从句” → “如此……以至于……” （so引导的句子倒装，that引导的句子不倒装）
e.g. So clearly does he speak English that he can always make himself understood.
（4）neither…nor… 既不……也不…… （前后句均需倒装）
e.g. Neither do I know it, nor do I care about it.
（5）not only…but (also)… 不仅……而且…… （前倒后不倒）
e.g. Not only will help be given to those people, but also medical treatment will be provided for them.
（6）not until… 直到……才…… e.g. Not until 4:00 in the morning can he fall asleep.
（注意：如果not until 引导的是句子，从句的主谓不可倒装，而只是主句需倒装，即主倒从不倒。）
e.g. Not until he returned did we have supper.
三．形式倒装（Formal Inversion）
形式上的倒装在语法上称为前置。它的特点是，只把强调的内容提至句首，主谓并不倒装。
1. 感叹句
e.g. What an interesting book it is! How interesting the book is!
2. “whatever + n. / however + adj./adv.”引导让步状语从句
e.g. Whatever reasons you have, you should carry out your promise.
However difficult the problem may be, we must work it out this evening.
3. as引导的让步状语从句中，必须把所强调的信息放在句首；though引导的让步状语从句中也可以这样倒装
e.g. Child as he is, he knows a lot.
Child though he is, he knows a lot. = Though he is a child, he knows a lot.
