If you're feeling hungry, what’s the easiest way to satisfy your Hunger Many of Us will reach for a takeaway menu and order some delicious-but possibly unhealthy -food. And our increasingly hectic lives add to our need to buy ready-made food because we always have no time or energy to cook on our own.
Eating options are endless, and new technology means we can feed our desire at the push of a button. Takeaway delivery apps make ordering food quick and convenient. It's estimated that in the UK alone, people eat three million takeaway meals a day, and the three biggest delivery apps together offer a choice of 100 foods from 60,000 restaurants. Amelia Brophy, head of UK Data Products at YouGov, told the BBC that its research suggests that the frequency of takeaways ordered is expected to increase in the future.
It’s no wonder we are tempted to skip the grocery shopping, bypass the kitchen, and tuck into something that someone else has prepared. But ordering a pizza, a spicy curry or a box of noodles, can come at a price both financially and to our health. Eating too much processed and unhealthy fast food has some effect on obesity and the risk of developing certain diseases. A few years ago, the BBC Good Food Nation Survey found most people eating fast food on average two days per week gradually putting on weight.
Of course, reducing salt, sugar and fat is one way to make takeaway food healthier, as well as offering smaller portion sizes. But the best advice for you is to find a recipe book and try making your own nutritious meals. And if you haven't got time, try ordering a healthier alternative from the menu.
28. What does the underlined word “hectic” in Paragraph 1 probably mean
A. Abnormal. B. Busy. C. Irregular. D. Social.
29. What has made takeaway foods even more popular nowadays
A. The various food.
B. Their delicious taste.
C. Their relatively low price.
D. The advanced technology.
30. What can we infer from Paragraph 3
A. Takeaway foods may do harm to health.
B. Takeaway foods make people light-hearted.
C. Pizza and noodles are the most popular takeaway foods.
D. The UK has the largest number of people ordering takeaway foods.
31. What is the author’s purpose of writing the last paragraph
A. To give readers some suggestions.
B. To offer readers an alternative menu.
C. To find the reason for ordering takeaway foods.
D. To choose the best way of making nutritious meals.
D
Ten years ago, I set out to examine luck. I wanted to know why some people were always in the right place at the right time, while others consistently experienced ill fortune. I placed advertisements in national newspapers asking for people who felt consistently lucky or unlucky. Hundreds of extraordinary men and women volunteered for my research. Over the years I have interviewed them, monitored their lives and had them take part in various experiments.
In one of the experiments, I gave both lucky and unlucky people a newspaper, asking them to look through it and tell me how many photographs were inside. I had secretly placed a large message halfway through the newspaper, saying, “Tell the experimenter you have seen this and you will win $50.” This message took up half of the page and was written in type that was more than two inches high. It was staring everyone in the face, but the unlucky people tended to miss it and the lucky people tended to spot it.
Unlucky people are generally more nervous than lucky people, and this anxiety affects their ability to notice the unexpected. As a result, they miss opportunities because they are too focused on looking for something else. They go to gatherings concentrating on finding their perfect partners and miss opportunities to make good friends. They look through newspapers determined to find certain types of job advertisements and miss other types of jobs.
Lucky people are more relaxed and open, and therefore see what is there rather than just what they are looking for. My research eventually showed that lucky people are skilled at noticing opportunities, make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition (直觉), are open to new experiences, and adopt a never-say-die attitude that transforms bad luck into good luck.
32. What’s the purpose of the author’s research
A. To discover what luck means to people.
B. To find lucky people and unlucky people.
C To distinguish between good luck and bad luck.
D. To figure out why people are always lucky or unlucky.
33. Why did the unlucky people miss the message in the experiment
A. There was too much information to be read in detail.
B. They were too focused on looking for photographs.
C. It took too much time to go through newspapers.
D. The words were too small to be noticed.
34. What leads to lucky people’s good fortune
A. Their ability to spot opportunities. B. Their ability to become relaxed.
C. Their ability to communicate. D. Their ability to make friends.
35. What’s the key message of the last paragraph
A. What lucky people are looking for.
B. How lucky people generate good luck.
C. What lucky people can do with opportunities.
D. How lucky people transform bad luck into good luck.

C. To distinguish between good luck and bad luck.
C What lucky people can do with opportunities.
D. How lucky people transform bad luck into good luck.
D 33. B 34. A 35. B

As a result, they miss opportunities because they are too focused on looking for something else.”
根据最后一段中的“My research eventually showed that lucky people are skilled at noticing opportunities, make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition (直觉), are open to new experiences, and adopt a never-say-die attitude that transforms bad luck into good luck.”

故填which。

the old members of our club为名词词组,故动词应该用现在分词结构。
It is high time that现在是…… 故将was改为is。
be supposed to do理应做某事,故在supposed后加to。
故将what改为that或which。
分析可知,“the new members are easy-going”和“can get along well with their teammate”应该为顺承关系。故将or改为and。
故将the改为an。

Dear Mr. Smith,
I am Li Hua, a student from Class Five, Senior Two. I am writing to draw your attention to two improper behaviors among students in the reading rooms of the school library: making noises and littering. As you know, it is difficult for readers to focus while some students are whispering to each other or making cell phone calls. Besides, a dirty environment is not only bad for our health but also has a negative effect on our studying.
Therefore, in my opinion, some measures should be taken to solve these problems. First, put up some signs which forbid such improper behaviors. Second, ask all the students to pick up their rubbish when they leave.
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
