【拓展】fail的反义词是pass和succeed。pass作动词,意为“及格;通过(考试)”;succeed作动词,意为“成功”。fail的派生词failure作名词,意为“失败”,如:Failure is the mother of success.失败是成功之母。

receive意为“收到”,指客观上收到,但主观上不一定接受,多指接收具体的东西,如信件、礼物等,常与from连用。
