master the meaning and pronunciation of new word: teach.
be able to use the new sentence pattern: Would you like to be……
2.improve their ability of listening for main idea and listening for specific information.
3.know when to read in a rising tone and when to read in a falling tone.
4.be aware that every job is important.
Teaching key and difficult points:
To make students master the sentence pattern: Would you like to be…… and use it to maintain a speech.

Stages Learning Activities Teaching purposes
Lead-in Guys, let’s review what we learned yesterday. First, what is this word Right, secretary. Read with me. This word has three syllables. Then, what is she Yes, a dentist. To review the new words they learned yesterday.
Pre-listening Now please read and find out the jobs. Who cooks food for people Yes, a cook. Who teaches children English Yes, an English teacher. Here teach means 教. In this word, teacher, ‘er’ shows the person who does the action. Now please talk with your classmate. For example, what does a cook usually do A cook usually cooks food for people. You will have two minutes. Look at the picture. Kitty and Peter are talking about something. Can you guess what they are talking about You see, there are some cards in their hands. This is a policeman and this is a cook. So they may talk about Maybe they will talk about what a cook does. Maybe they will talk about do they want to be a cook. Now listen to the recording and find out what they are talking about. To practice their ability of speaking English and improve their ability of prediction before listening.
While-listening So, what are they talking about Brilliant, they are talking about what they want to do. What questions do they ask Listen again and find out the questions they ask. Great. They talk about ‘Would you like to be’ and ‘Why’. What’s the meaning of ‘Would you like to be’ It means do you want to be…… Would like to means ‘想要’. So, would Peter like to be a policeman Listen for the third time and find the answer. Now please listen and repeat. Excellent. Now please read together. When reading, please pay attention to the rising and falling tone. Now please act the dialogue out with the classmate next to you. When you are reading, again please pay attention to the tone and pause. To practice their ability of listening for main idea and listening for specific information.
Post-listening Now let’s do the pair work. Talk with your classmate by using these sentences. When you are talking why or why not, you can say: because the job is cool, interesting, exciting or you are good at doing sth. If you don’t want to do, you can say the job is boring, too busy, long working time or not interesting. Clear You will have two minutes. Guys, no matter what you want to do or you don’t want to do, remember that every job is important. Every job has its value. To practice the sentence patterns they learned in this class and raise their awareness of the importance of every job.
