◎用法总结:whether / if表示“是否”
相同点和不同点:
相同点 二者在引导宾语从句时一般可以互换。如:I wonder if / whether Kate will come to my party.我想知道凯特是否会来我的聚会。
不同点 whether后可以接or或or not,而if则不能。如:I don't know whether you are right or not.我不知道你是否正确。
whether可以用在不定式前,而if则不能。如:Ann can't decide whether to buy a house this year.安不能决定今年是否买房。
whether可以用在介词后。而if则不能。如:My uncle is thinking about whether he should buy a car.我叔叔在考虑是否应该买小汽车。
if除了表示“是否”,还有“如果”的意思,而whether没有。如:If it's rainy tomorrow, I'll not climb mountains.如果明天下雨,我就不去爬山。
