Beauty is one of three daughters of a French merchant, who is treated like a servant by her sisters Felicie and Adelaide. One day, her father gets lost in the forest and enters a strange castle looking for help. The owner of the castle, a beast, tells the merchant that unless one of his daughters stays in the castle to replace him, the merchant will die; Beauty offers to take her father’s place and is trapped in the castle; In the end, she finds that the beast is not as terrible and cruel as he seems to be. In fact, he is a handsome prince. Students are required to complete after-school activities and write a film review after reading. 【Why】 Students can understand the four parts of the film review by reading and writing; meanwhile, they can improve the ability of appreciating classic movies.
【How】 The sample essay introduces the film Beauty and the Beast from four aspects: “basic background information; simple plot introduction; attractive scenes and drawbacks; comments and recommendations”, providing a clear framework for students to write a film review.
