知识梳理
1. She is not looking forward to working with her group.
look forward to 盼望，期待
其中to为介词 ，后跟名词、代词或动词的-ing形式。
e.g. I look forward to meeting my Chinese teacher again.
我盼望再见到我的语文老师。
2. A boy named Li Tian is always absent from the group meetings.
be absent from 缺席；不到场
e.g. He’ll be absent from school tomorrow. 他明天不上学。
3. He refuses to do any work.
refuse 拒绝，谢绝
后面常接名词、代词或动词不定式。
e.g. He refused to help me with my English.
他不帮我学英语。
4.This slows the whole group down.
slow down （使）慢下来；（使）减速；放松；延误
eg. Slow your car down when you reach the school gate.
到学校大门时要放慢车速。
5. But so far,you have done nothing.
so far 迄今为止，到目前为止
常与现在完成时连用，既可放在句首、句中，也可放在句尾。
e.g. He has finished five tasks so far.
到现在为止，他已经完成五个任务了。
6.From now on,she says,"I will do my best to help you feel more confident.”
（1）from now on 从现在起 常用于一般将来时
from then on 从那时起 常用于一般过去时。
e.g. From now on, I’m going to work hard.
我打算今后努力工作。
（2）do / try one’s best to do sth. 尽自己最大努力做某事
e.g. They did / tried their best to pass the exam.
他们尽最大努力满足我。

“Ok class,”says Ms.Liu.“It's time for our group project.Let's get to work!”
Yi Han is the leader of one group.She is not looking forward to working with her group because a boy named Li Tian is always absent from the group meetings.He doesn't follow the rules,and he refuses to do any work.This slows the whole group down.
Yi Han considers telling Ms.Liu about
these problems,but she doesn't want to
get Li Tian in trouble.Instead,she decides
to talk to him and find out what the problem
is.She says,“Everyone is working hard on our
project.But so far,you have done nothing.Is
there something wrong ”
Li Tian is quiet for a few seconds,and finally says,“It's not that I don't want to be in the group.Sometimes, I don't really understand the things we're learning.I know it's not fair,but I don't want to say something stupid, so I do nothing.”
Now Yi Han understands.Li Tian isn't lazy—he just needs help! “From now on,” she says,“I will do my best to help you feel more confident.Then you
can do your share,and it will be fair for
everyone.”“Thank you! I'll try hard to
do my part,” says Li Tian.
Yi Han feels happy.She realizes that
talking about problems is better than
keeping them as secrets.
