The Time Machine
The Time Machine is a science fiction novella by H.G. Wells, published in 1895 and written as a frame narrative. The work is generally credited with the popularisation of the concept of time travel by using a vehicle that allows an operator to travel forwards and backwards in time. The Machine Stops is a science fiction short story by E.M. Forster. The story, set in a world where almost all humans have lost the ability to live on the surface of Earth and each individual lives in isolation in a “cell” relying on a giant machine to provide their needs, predicted future technologies such as instant messaging and the Internet.
