一、课标关于本节内容的要求。
在新目标八年级下册Unit 2 I’ll ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) help to clean up the city parks.中,学生们已经学习了used to be 这一短语。九年级第四单元,是对这一短语的综合运用。因此教师在讲解这个单元时,可以结合《英语课程标准》的五级要求,对used to的用法进行梳理和归纳。
二、本节教材内容分析。
新目标英语九年级第4单元以I used t ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )o be afraid of the dark.为中心话题,运用used to描述自己或他人过去的外貌或性格。本课的教学内容与学生的实际生活密切相关,易于引发学生运用简单的英语进行交际和交流。在学习活动中,学生通过询问他人过去的外貌或性格,促进学生之间和师生之间的情感交流。本节课是Section A的第一课时(1a—1c),主要学习内容是:先运用一般现在时态“I have long hair.”描述现在的自己,从而引出“I used to have short hair. I used to be thin….”等含有 “ used to”的句型。
1a活动的目的是让学生通过识图来引出本单元 ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )的话题“I/ He/ She used to be…..”。这一活动有两个作用,一是帮助学生更好地理解 “used to be”的用法,二是为下边的听力活动做好语言上的铺垫;1b是一个听力活动,主要通过听对话描述Mario, Amy及Tina过去的样子;作者的意图是让学生在熟练运用“used to have/ wear/ be ”等一系列短语进行听的练习。所以在挖空时,设计得比较容易,只是让学生填出表示人物性格或外貌的形容词或名词,如:short, curly。1c的活动是通过编对话的形式来操练1a中出现的询问别人过去或现在外貌的句型,对话的重点是运用“used to”。
三、教学设计
(一)教学目标
1 语言目标:要求学生熟练掌握生词、短语和重点句子。
1)生词和短语: humorous, helpful, silent, score, from time to time
2)重点句子:I/ He/ She used to have/ wear/be………
2 能力目标: 能够听懂重要句型及语言结构,并能够仿照例子询问周围同学及朋友的过去。
3 情感和态度目标: 对比过去与现在,学生能更好的认识自我。
(二)教学重点及难点
1. 教学重点
1)能正确读写本节课的四个重点单词与一个短语。
2)能听懂1b关于描述他人过去的听力对话并完成听力任务。
3) 能正确运用句型“I/ He/ She used to have/ wear/be………”描述自己或他人的过去。
2. 教学难点:含有“use to”这一短语的句型的运用,以及各种句型转换。
(三)教学方法
1.情景交际法:引导学生根据模拟现实生活的情景进行对话交流,体现在教和学的过程中教师为主导、学生为主体,充分显示交际英语教学的特色。
2.互动教学法:以表演,竞赛的方式去鼓励学生学习英语的兴趣和热情,体现学生的互动合作和师生的互动交流。
3.教具:使用多媒体教学课件和录音机进行教学。

本节课是第四单元SectionB第2课时。是一篇阅读短文。学习本课要求学生能达到以下要求:

二、本节教材内容分析。
本文选自人教版Go for it ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )九年级第2单元,是一节阅读课。本文以“talk about what they used to be like”为话题的阅读教学同时要求在阅读中落实词汇教学。围绕此话题,文中第一个活动设计了pair work, 谈论父母如何帮助自己解决一个问题,启发学生介绍自己的过去与现在,有利于学生快速进入主题。第二个活动设计了要求学生运用上下文把5个短句填入文中空白处,以填空形式让学生了解文章中段落与段落之间以及句子与句子之间的内在联系。第三个活动设计了根据语境猜测词义的题,要求学生在细读文章后,猜出词语在文中的意思,有利于学生更全面的理解文章,并克服见到生词就退缩的恐惧心理,同时对于培养学生良好的阅读习惯有很大益处。 在完成文本阅读后,本文要求学生模仿文本运用所学的词汇描述父母、朋友或老师帮助自己解决问题的事例,从而达到文本内容的输出。

这两个短语都是“以...为傲”的意思,但是proud是形容词性,pride是名词性,
be proud of和take pride in后面都可以加sth.或doing sth.
