Ⅰ. Analysis of teaching material
This lesson comes from the second unit of Module10 which focuses on the topic of weather and travelling. This passage is typical reading and writing material. The goal of this lesson is to improve Ss’ levels on reading and writing. The topic of this unit is about the weather in the US. Students can learn about the beautiful scenery of US, they can also understand the effect of the weather on travelling. Through learning, they will be able to understand some culture difference in the US, and build up the consciousness to conclude the culture difference, which is very helpful for English learning.
Ⅱ. Teaching aims
To understand the main idea as well as specific information of the passage.
To master the key words and expressions and associate what they learn with the real life.
To be able to finish a short paragraph about the best time to visit Tianjin with the proper expressions and vocabulary.
To be able to understand different cultures between the US and China.

Understand the passage and the effect of weather on travelling.

Ⅳ. Analysis of learners
Ss are in the second grade of Middle School. They have learnt some basic knowledge on English learning and they are full of curiosity. They enjoy taking part in different kinds of activities, such as group work, competition and games. Thus teacher designs the class involving many kinds of activities to meet the requirement of Ss’ learning.

Ⅸ. Reflection
本节课以天气为载体,旨在锻炼学生给出一些旅游建议,如游览地、游览时间、天气情况和旅游准备等,从而掌握必备的语言知识、增强学生的文化意识、锻炼学生的思维品质并提升学生的语言能力。结合这一教学目标,我设计的了一系列的教学活动,如:从阅读部分的泛读到精读,再到写作部分的小组输出,难度层层递进。
本堂课结合IPAD技术,重点使用了PAD 的抢答、点名、画笔、出题、推送白板和积分奖励等功能。使用抢答和积分奖励等功能极大地调动了学生学习的积极性;出题功能的充分利用,使得对学生的知识掌握情况一目了然,教学更有针对性;推送白板呈现小组作品,不仅使得每一个学生都能看清并理解他人的想法,也促进学生积极的思考并不断修正自己的作品。
本节课前,教师发送学习微课,让学生对教学内容有所了解,课上更有针对性的教学,节约了教学时间。同时课上出题,IPAD直接呈现学生的正确率,使得教师在讲解时有的放矢。在教学设计上,大胆突破,加入了课外信息介绍,这有助于培养学生的国际理解,增强学生文化意识。此外,还大胆让学生查找知识点,并总结用法。这些都为学生英语核心素养的养成提供了支架和抓手。
总之,本节课注重学生的学习参与、体验;注重及时反馈;注重学生英语学科核心素养的培养;提高了学习效率
