Recently, Jennifer’s class have had a heated discussion about whether teenagers should go on diets to lose weight. Laura, Jennifer’s classmates, wrote an article where she expressed her opinion about dieting.
In order to keep a slim figure and to be more attractive in appearance, some teenagers, especially girls,would like to lose weight by skipping meals. In my opinion,dieting is not good for them.
First,dieting is harmful to teenagers’ health. For example,if a teenage girl eats less than what her body needs, her metabolism will slow down because there is not so much food to be taken in each day. Second,dieting may affect our lives negatively. With much pressure from study,teenagers need to be very energetic to face severe competitions in their study. Dieting will surely reduce their energy and in turn affect their lives negatively.
As an old saying goes, ‘Health is priceless’.I believe that dieting is not advisable for teenagers.
