1.创造性:即发挥想象力,该题型具有一定的开放性,考生需用自己的语言对故事情节进行内容创造;
2.逻辑性:即根据已提供的关键信息,按照可能的合理的方向续写,使文章逻辑结构完整;
①“Why don’t you want to accept this wonderful opportunity ”asked the boss on the phone.
② “Shall we leave now ” he whispered to us and we left the room quietly.
③ “Help! Help! I can’t swim,” screamed the frightened boy.
④ “Please don’t hurt my cat,” begged Sarah as her brother picked it up by one leg.
⑤ “ I’d like to live in a castle of my own too,” agreed the young prince.
⑥ “ Yes. I bought a car and a new flat this winter,” my father replied.
⑦ “ Are you coming with us ” shouted Li Ming to her friends on the other side of the room.
⑧ “ I didn’t like that meal at all,” complained the customer.
⑨ “ Perhaps you would like to go this way ” suggested the man shyly.
(2) 适当使用with/without这个介词。
①The potential house buyer came with confidence.
②The man answered without hesitation.
③With the lights on, the elderly woman left the room.
④With a book in his arm, he left the room.
⑤With so much work to do, she will have a hard time.
⑥With so much work done, she felt relaxed.
(3) 适当使用非谓语动词。
①We thanked the elderly couple and felt a sense of warmth, deeply moved.
②The owner smiled, saying, “ Tell me why you need this house.”
③“May I ask why ” I asked, surprised.
(4)使用副词: 此类词可以放在句首,句尾或句中,修饰动作。
①He gave her the child to hold. Lovingly, she kissed the baby on its forehead with her cold white lips, then stared wildly around the room, fell back—and died.
②His mother was sleeping when he woke up. Joyfully, he slid out of the room.
①We had no idea where we were and it got dark. Exhausted and hungry, I wondered if we could find our way back.
②Suddenly a little rabbit jumped out in front of my horse. Afraid that I might hurt the lovely creature, I automatically let out a cry to stop my horse.
(6) 使用强调句型
It is not mony but love that matters.
(7)使用定语从句
I want to give it to those who can fill it with love instead of money.

One sunny afternoon in June, my sister Jenny and I were walking home from school when we heard a strange sound coming from an empty box. We walked over to it and looked inside. A sad little sparrow(麻雀)was sitting at the bottom of the box and its right wing was broken. Jenny held it in her hands, cooing(咕咕地叫)to it, so it wouldn’t be afraid. And then Jenny and I took it home.
My mom took one look at the little bird and said, “No way! I’m not having another animal in the house.” But when she got a closer look at the big and sad eyes, she changed her mind.
Mom set the sparrow on the kitchen table to get a better look at it. She said its right wing was seriously broken, so she designed a splint(夹板)and carefully put it on its wing. Our dog, Buttons, kept trying to get a look at the bird, but we drove it away. Once the splint was on, we fed the bird water and gave it bits of bread and berries. At first it wouldn’t eat, but after a while, it wouldn’t stop.
The little bird got the name Peep. We kept it in a cage. Every morning, we put its cage outside, so it could get some fresh air. Peep couldn’t fly, which seemed to make it sad.
After a period of time, Peep’s wing got better. We put Peep on the kitchen table, and Mom took off the splint. Peep started flapping(拍打)its wings like crazy, and the next morning when we opened the cage, it flew about fifty feet into the air before coming back. We watched from the ground like proud parents. From then on, we left its cage outside with the door open, and Peep flew further each morning, but it always came back.

Mo was waiting outside her class. She was feeling sick. She had two exams that day. Physics was first and she hated physics, it was her worst subject. Terry looked back at her from the front of the line, then looked away quickly. Mo thought she looked guilty. She didn’t have a problem with physics. She didn’t have a problem with anything!
“Hi, Mo, it’s your favourite exam today!” said Nima as she arrived. Terry looked back again. “What’s wrong with her ” said Nima. “I thought you were friends.” “Yes, so did I,” said Mo. “But she looks absent-minded and acts strangely these days. She promised to help me revise for the physics exam, but then she ignored all my calls and texts!” said Mo angrily while going into the exam room.
Mo couldn’t answer question number five. She looked up and saw Terry sitting in the next row. Mo was surprised. Terry was holding her phone under the table and she was reading from it. Is that how Terry always got good grades She felt really angry at Terry and thought about telling the teacher, but what would everyone else think of her It wasn’t fair! Mo never cheated and she failed lots of exams. Terry had already put her phone away when Mo looked up again. She looked back at Mo and smiled sadly. “Stop writing and put your pens down” said Mr Reed as he started to collect the exam papers. Oh no, Mo hadn’t answered two of the questions. She was going to fail again!
The next exam was history. That was Mo’s favourite subject but she didn’t feel good. “It wasn’t fair!” she thought. “Terry was getting good grades by cheating all that time. And I thought we were friends!” Just then, Mr Reed walked past her table. “Mr Reed...”
Mo was sitting behind Terry again in the history exam, but Terry didn’t take her phone out. Mo was feeling bad again. Why did she tell Mr Reed But it was too late now. Marmee was out before breakfast, so the four sisters sat together by the fire waiting for her back, while the December snow fell quietly outside. It was a comfortable old room, though the furniture (家具) was very plain, a few good pictures hung on the walls and books filled the shelves (书架).
Margaret, the eldest of the four, was sixteen, and very pretty, with large eyes and soft, brown hair. Fifteen-year-old Jo was very tall, thin, and brown. She had sharp gray eyes, which appeared to see everything. Her long, thick hair was her one beauty, but it was usually tied back to be out of her way. Jo also had the uncomfortable appearance of a girl who was rapidly approaching womanhood and didn’t like it. Beth was a shy, peaceful girl of thirteen with smooth hair and bright eyes. Sweet Beth seemed to live happily in a world of her own. Amy, though the youngest, was the most important person — in her own opinion. Amy’s yellow wavy hair fell on her pale shoulders, which were always upright and ladylike, as she desired to have the excellent manners of a young lady.
As the girls sat near the fire, Jo saw her mother’s slippers sitting nearby, and picked the up to examine them.
“ They are quite worn out. Marmee must have a new pair. ”
“ I thought I’d get her some with my dollar, ” said Beth.
“ No, I shall! ” cried Amy.
“ I’m the oldest, ” began Meg, but Jo cut her off with —
“ I’m the man of the family now. Papa is away, and I shall buy the slippers, for he told me to take special care of Mother while he was gone. ”
“ I’ll tell you what we’ll do, ” said Beth, “ let’s each get her something for Christmas, and not get anything for ourselves. ”
“ That’s like you, dear! What will we get ” Jo asked.

Over the years, I’ve been guilty of hurriedly shutting the front door to many strangers when they came to my home knocking with the intention of selling things. I hated it when they tried their best to persuade me to buy the things they promoted. But earlier this year, around Easter time, a dear friend of mine, Linda, had an experience that changed my mind and attitude towards these towards these “intruders”.
Last winter, Linda went through a very messy divorce and was very depressed. So she quit her job and left Los Angeles, where she encountered her ex-husband in college. She flew to Boston on the east coast of US. Later, she settled in a new neighborhood in East Boston. However, shortly afterwards, the company where she worked went bankrupt (破产). Suffering a series of bitter blows, she fell ill, a severe case of flu. She had to stay at home for the whole week, feeling extremely bad and hopeless.
Early one morning, there was the terrible knock on her front door. Peering out the window, she saw a young lady holding leaflets and a TV set model. She knew of a large TV set establishment nearby and assumed a message was about to be gently delivered. “This is the last thing I need today,” she muttered to herself and hesitantly opened the door.
Coughing, she poked her head out and impatiently informed them she wasn’t the slightest bit interested in any TV whatsoever. Furthermore, she added, she was feeling quite unwell and abruptly shut the door. The ladies politely turned and left in silence.
Paragraph 1:
A few hours later, another knock.

Lucy was very nervous. She had a swimming competition in the morning and could not sleep. She tossed and turned all night. She was no stranger to competition. In fact, she loved it. Lucy was very athletic and was not only part of a swim team, but a soccer team as well. But this particular competition was important. She had made it all the way to the finals and didn’t want to let her teammates down.
When her alarm went off at 6: 00 am, she hit the snooze button and rolled onto her side, wishing she could just stay in bed all day. Having slept so poorly, Lucy was not at all ready for the day. After a few minutes, she stretched her arms above her head and yawned before throwing her covers back and climbing out of bed.
She was terribly anxious about the competition, so much that she couldn’t even eat breakfast. It felt as though her stomach was doing somersaults (翻腾). Lucy’s mother looked concerned. “You have to eat something,” she said. “It’s important to keep your strength up.” “I know, I’m just not hungry this morning,” Lucy replied, picking at her eggs with a fork. All she could think about was facing the competition. What if she performed poorly What if she disappointed her coach and teammates She wouldn’t be able to forgive herself.
Lucy’s mom sensed her daughter’s worry and gave her a reassuring (令人宽慰的) pat on the back. “You’ll be great, dear. Just do your best. That’s all that matters.”
Lucy felt a bit of relief and appreciated her mother’s kind words. But by the time she got to the athletic club where the swim meet was being held, that feeling of comfort had dissolved (消融). She went to the locker room to prepare for the competition, but when she opened her gym bag, she was quite surprised.

She was no stranger to competition. In fact, she loved it. Anne was very athletic and her strong will and diligent spirit brought her respect and love. She was not only part of a swim team, but a soccer team, as well. Before she took up swimming, she had been playing soccer. She got along well with her teammates in the soccer team, and they usually encouraged each other before games. Just two days before the swimming competition, she had a regular soccer practice. Her soccer teammates noticed her anxiety and asked her about it. She lowered her head, murmuring. “I’ll take a swimming competition, and this particular competition was important. I had made it all the way to the finals and didn’t want to let my teammates down.” One of her soccer teammates patted her shoulder, “Just be yourself ” When Anne walked away, her soccer teammates looked at her back. They just couldn’t let it go.
The morning finally came. Having slept so poorly, Anne was not at all ready for the day. She was terribly anxious about the competition, so much so that she couldn’t even eat breakfast. It felt as though her stomach was doing somersaults (翻腾).
Anne’s mother looked concerned. “You have to eat something,” she said. “It’s important to keep your strength up.”

“Honey, drink the milk and have some bread. I’ll wait for you in the car. We just have 10 minutes left.” Hearing that, Anne had a quick breakfast, grabbed her gym bag and got into the car.

In order to join the Merchant Marines, I had dropped out of college after my first semester. Using an article from Life magazine as my guide I decided to hitch-hike down to New Orleans and see the world.
My family was relatively poor and my youth had been in the workingman’s section of a large New England mill town. My father and I had a hard time since my mother passed away. As she lay dying, my mother said to me in a weak voice, “Son, remember to ask your father for advice at every juncture of your life.” Yet we seemed more like room-mates rather than father-son. He thought I was foolish for dropping out of school, so I didn’t inform him of my plans.
I left a note on the kitchen table, telling him I was going to New York City for a few days and would be back soon. I walked to a highway near where I lived, stuck my thumb out, and was“on the road”.
My trip to New Orleans was a mistake. The Merchant Marine wasn’t taking on any people for a while. I decided to wait in New Orleans until it did. I lasted over a week, living in a dirty hotel until my money started to run out. I had to stay up in the park for a few days. Life seemed to become a continuous adventure. From New Orleans I went to New York and stayed with a friend for a few weeks, and then went to Martha’s Vineyard, living on the beach in April. Later, I lived in an abandoned house in Nantucket and ended up with a long stop in Boston. There was no word from the Merchant Marine. I felt so desperate.
My close friend Jimmy called me one day and asked me how everything was going. I had to tell him the truth and he persuaded me to go back soon.

Cody wanted to go to school all the time. His older brother, Matt, was in fifth grade and had learned about some amazing places in the world. Cody could hardly wait to go to school. Finally he was really there in first grade. His teacher was nice, and Cody was able to do all the papers without any trouble.
Soon came the Report Card Day. The family had a routine that all the family members would research the Report Card together and look for A’s. And once when Matt got something besides an A, he was grounded (禁足). Cody was pretty confident that he’d get all A’s. He thought his parents would be proud of him!
“...A’s on the report card mean satisfactory and excellent...” His teacher explained in the front of the classroom, while Cody was absent-minded, looking out of the window and thinking, “A’s! I’m not going to get anything but A’s”, paying NO attention to what the teacher said.
The teacher called students’ names one by one. The one who was called would come to the front to receive his card and then go home. Hearing his name called, Cody shouldered his backpack and walked proudly to get his Report Card. He had to walk home alone since Matt went home with friends that day. He made his way through the crowd in the schoolyard before he pulled the card from its envelope (信封) and looked. He got all S’s. He couldn’t believe it. He had failed first grade! He threw the card into his backpack and headed home. But when he got to the stream, he stepped off the sidewalk and went to his secret place under the bridge.
There he pulled the card out again and studied it hard. He was right: not a single A in the whole column. What could he do What would his parents do He didn’t realize time passed fast and Matt was sent to look for him. Soon Matt found him under the bridge.
“Mom, I’ve got him!” Matt yelled as he opened the front door.

Bill McDonnell was going crazy. Deer season had begun, but it was colder than usual. Up until his late 80s, Bill didn’t mind hunting in sub-zero temperature, but he had become slow in the past few years. The snow-covered mountains of the Shenandoah Valley were no place for a 92-year-old. He knew it, but still wanted to get outside.
It was about 7:30 a.m., still far below zero when the sun shone through trees. Bill had strict instructions from his wife Joanna to be out of woods by 2 p.m. and home by 3 p.m. — plenty of time before sunset, in case he missed the deadline, which he often did.
Not long into the hike, he came upon a path he didn’t remember. Maybe this was a secret route to the king of all deer. He took it.
It seemed that this path up the mountain had meandered (蜿蜒) quite a bit. After climbing to the top of a ridge (山脊), he figured that he could continue down into another valley for more hunt. But the farther he snaked down, the thinner and deeper it became. Before long, he was looking straight up from down the ravine (沟壑), which was higher than expected.
He decided to climb back up, careful with each step. He kept pushing upward until finally he could rest at the top for a while. By the time he got going again, it was nearly 2:45 p.m. This time he saw a trail (小路) with white marks. He remembered his daughter had mentioned it before, which he thought might take him back home more quickly.
He called his daughter, but she didn’t remember the trail, begging him not to try that. Still he wanted to go on the trail. “I’ve got it figured out,” he said. Then suddenly he realized he was talking to the air. His phone had died. He dug into his pants for the GPS device and pushed the “ON” button. Nothing. He had forgotten to charge it. But nothing could discourage him from going on this trail.

It was a rainy winter evening. Joe could see an old lady on the side of the road waiting for help. So be stopped his car and got out of his car. When he came closer to her, the lady looked in despair. No one had stopped to help her for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her He didn’t look safe. Joe could see that she was scared. Knowing how she felt, Joe said quickly. “I’m here to help you, ma’am. It is too cold outside. Please go and stay inside the car. By the way, my name is Joe.”
Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. While Joe was changing the tire, the lady rolled down the window and started to talk to him. She told him that she was only passing through. She was very grateful that he came to help her. Joe just smiled as he put the flat tire in the trunk (后备箱).
“How much do I owe you ” the lady asked, then adding that any amount would be all right. Joe, however, rejected the payment. “You don’t owe me a thing. I’m only passing through. Someone once helped me out. Just the way I’m helping you. If you want to pay me back, please pay it forward. Don’t let the chain (链条;连续) of love end with you.” Joe responded. “Whoa! What are you doing ” I asked, shocked.
I had just walked into my daughter’s room as she was working on a science project. Normally, I would have been pleased at such a sight. But this time, her project needed sand, a lot of it. And, while she had put some plastic below her work area, it wasn’t nearly enough. The sand was spreading all over our newly decorated floors.
My daughter, who immediately felt my displeasure, began to defend herself. “I used plastic!” she responded angrily.
I reacted more angrily, “But the sand is getting all over!”
“Where else am I supposed to do it ” she yelled.
Why won’t she admit (承认) when she’s done something wrong I thought to myself. I felt my fear, projecting into the future: What would her life look like if she couldn’t admit her mistakes
My fear translated into more anger, this time about how important it was for her to admit mistakes, and we began to argue. She said something that felt disrespectful to me and I raised my voice. It started to get out of control. This scene had happened in my family over and over again, a hysterical (歇斯底里的) daughter and a yelling mom. It usually started with unrealized expectations and ended in anger, frustration (挫败), sadness, and loss of confidence on both sides.
I tried my best to calm down, but somehow I stormed out of her room. Just at the moment, her door shut heavily behind me. How could she do this to me! So angry was I that I decided to give her a lesson. When my husband came back from work, seeing the look on my face, he figured out what had happened almost at once. “A rough fight again ” Eddie asked. After hearing the whole thing, he said gently “Have you ever thought that maybe you should have given her a chance to explain the situation before you lost your temper ” His words set me thinking, I began to reflect on my behaviors.

Every Saturday, Grandpa and I walk to the nursing home a few blocks away from our house to visit many of the old and sick people. “Whoever visits the sick gives them life,” Grandpa always says.
We have made some friends there. Mrs. Sokol, “The Cook”, likes to talk about the time when she was a well-known cook in Russia. Mr. Meyer, “The Joke Man” , enjoys telling us jokes. He laughs at his own jokes, shaking up and down and turning red in the face. Mrs. Kagan, “The Grandmother,” always shows us pictures of her grandchildren. Mrs. Schrieber is called “The Memory Lady” , whose room is filled with memories, memories that come alive as she tells us stories of her own experiences during the old days.
One day Grandpa got very sick and had to go to hospital. The doctors said they didn’t think he would ever get better.
Saturday came again, and it was time to visit the nursing home. How could I go visiting without Grandpa Then I remembered what Grandpa once told me, “ Nothing should stand in the way of doing a good deed. ” So I went alone. Everyone was surprised when they didn’t see Grandpa. After I told them that he was sick and in hospital, they comforted me.
Days later, Grandpa was still in hospital. He was not eating. He could not sit up and could barely speak. I went to the corner of the room so Grandpa wouldn’t see me cry. Suddenly the nurse came into the room and said, “ You have some visitors. ”
“ Is this the place with the party ” I heard a familiar voice ask. I looked up. They were the friends in the nursing room. The Cook brought him a hot bowl of homemade chicken soup. “ Chicken soup What this man needs is a pastrami (熏牛肉) sandwich, ” said The Joke Man as he let out one of his deep, rich laughs.

Two fast friends were Willie and his little dog Bounce. Willie could never think of taking a walk without Bounce. Cake and play were equally shared between them. Willie taught his dog many cunning tricks, and often said that Bounce could do almost anything in the world but talk. Then on a bright summer afternoon, Willie had strolled with Bounce down to the river, which was not more than two blocks from his father’s store — Mr. Brown’s store.
Willie began to throw stones into the water, and to watch ripples (涟漪) as they made one circle after another. Bounce lay on the grass, watching the flies buzzing around his nose, and catching any that came too near.
There were some logs floating in the river near the bank. Willie jumped upon one of them to see if he could throw a stone across the river. He drew back, sent the stone with all strength, just as it left his hand, the log turned and he fell into the water. He was frightened, for he did not know how to swim, and there was no one to hear, though he called as loud as he could for help.
Not being a big water dog, poor Bounce ran up and down the bank two or three times, barking, looking first at Willie and then around.
P1. Then he started, as fast as he could run, up the street towards Mr. Brown’s store.

Aly wandered toward the garden, where Miss Strawbridge, the landlady, was planting flowers. Last week, Aly and her parents had moved into the house in Miss Strawbridge’s backyard.
Aly watched silently until the old woman looked up and asked, “Why the long face, Aly ” “There aren’t any kids around here to play with.” said Aly. Miss Strawbridge’s blued eyes twinkled. “You should just like Rachel who used to live here.” said Miss Strawbridge. “Too bad you two young girls couldn’t have lived here at the same time.”
“What did Rachel do when she was bored ” asked Aly. “She planted a flower garden by the shed (棚子) in the backyard.” answered Miss Strawbridge. Miss Strawbridge handed Aly a trowel (铲子) and held out a box of flowers. For the rest of the afternoon, Aly pulled the weeds, dug and planted. But when she stepped back and admired her blue and yellow flowers, she smiled. Still, it was too bad that Rachel wasn’t there to share it.
The next day, Aly watered her flowers, then wondered what else she could do. She walked across the yard to the garden, where Miss Strawbridge sat reading. She stood silently until the old woman looked up. “What else did Rachel do when she was bored ” asked Aly. “She wrote poetry in her flower garden.” Miss Strawbridge answered. “One of her poem even won the first prize in a contest at school. The best way to learn how to write poetry is to read poetry.” She handed Aly her book.
For the rest of the afternoon, Aly lay on her stomach in the cool grass next to her flowers and read Miss Strawbridge’s book of poetry. After a while, she got some paper and a pencil from her house and scribbled (乱写) and erased. In the end she had a poem that might not be a prize winner but sounded good enough to make her smile. Still, it was too bad that Rachel wasn’t there. They could have read their poems to each other.
The next day, Aly watered her flowers, then wondered what else she could do. She rushed across the yard and knocked on Miss Strawbridge’s door. “What else did Rachel do when she was bored ” Asked Aly when Miss Strawbridge opened the door. “She played in the old shed and pretended it was her house.” Answered Miss Strawbridge.
Aly glanced back at the shed and then at Miss Strawbridge, Miss Strawbridge twinkled. “There’s nothing in the shed that you can hurt or that can hurt you.” She took a key off a hook next to the door and handed it to Aly.
She raced back into the shed, only to find a few chairs and boxes resting on the dusty shelves.

One sunny afternoon in June, my sister Jenny and I were walking home from school when we noticed a loud chirping (鸟叫) coming from an empty rubbish can beside the road. We walked over to the can and looked inside. We were surprised to find a little sparrow (麻雀) was sitting at the bottom of the trashcan chirping sadly. His right wing stuck out from his body. Jenny said it was probably broken.
She reached in and cupped (捧着) the bird in her hands, comforting him. The bird chirped all the way to our house. My mom took one look at the bird and said, “No way! I’m not having another animal in the house.” But when she got a closer look, she felt sad about the bird.
Then Mom sent me into the bathroom for tape and gently set the bird on the kitchen table to get a better look at him. She said his right wing was surely broken, so she created a splint (夹板) and carefully taped it to the bird’s wing. Our dog, Buttons, kept trying to get close to the bird, but we pushed her away.
Once the splint was on, we fed the bird water and some bread. The little bird earned the name Peep. We kept him in a cage. Every night, we put a towel over the cage, and Peep went right to sleep. And every morning, we put his cage outside and opened the door so he could hang around and get some fresh air.
Peep couldn’t fly, which seemed to disappoint him. He wasn’t used to walking everywhere. Finally, Peep made friends with Buttons, and he would jump onto Buttons’ back for a free ride around the backyard. Days later, Peep’s wing got better. One night, Mom told us that it was probably time to take off the splint. With Mom’s help, we cut off most of the splint. He didn’t completely recover, so there were bits of white tape stuck to his wing, but he didn’t seem to mind.
Paragraph 1:
Peep started pushing his wing up and down crazily, wanting to fly.

Paragraph 2:
As it got dark, we believed that Peep would never fly back.

参考答案:
1.Then one morning, another sparrow stopped on the Peep’s cage. The sparrow kept cooing to Peep and touch Peep’s head with its own head. At the same time, Peep also seemed excited and kept flapping its wings. We supposed that the sparrow must be Peep’s mother. After a while, Peep flew out of the cage, following the sparrow, gradually disappearing in the sky. On one hand, we were happy that it finally reunited with its family. On the other hand, we felt so sad but had to accept its leaving.
A few months later, a sparrow landed on the windrow of my home. Jenny and I both looked at it amazingly. With the marks on its right wing, we immediately recognized that it was Peep. It stood there looking at us for a couple of seconds, and I also began cooing to it and touched its feather to express my happiness. Then it flew up to the sky again. We looked up and saw Peep off, looking forward to its probable visit next time.

Finally, he said something about his childhood. He put his newspaper down and looked at me. He shook his head, saying, “It doesn’t matter to make mistakes, but you should learn a lesson from mistakes.” He said when he was young he didn’t like listening to his parents and didn’t take his parents’ advice either, so he made a few big mistakes. At last he realized what he had done was wrong and asked for his parents’ advice ever since. He suggested that I should go back to college to finish my degree. I decided to agree. Eventually, the sun slipped down and the forest turned black. Without a flashlight, his trembling legs felt as if to have covered many miles. The following morning, Bill had woken before dawn, continued down his trail and still imagined his wife’s anxiety. The light was still bad, with each step taking thoughts to avoid injuries. Within 15 minutes, hope was found from the line of trees expected to reach. Bill, extremely excited about this breakthrough, was heading in that direction when he encountered a group of trackers who’d come to his rescue for the whole night. Secured and finally sent home, he was discouraged from another attempt to hike alone and he was persuaded to keep his promise. Yet still, deep in his wildest dream, there still lived a young boy, forever insisting on his crazy idea of walking in these woods alone.
