Thirty-Six Stratagems (计谋), which show the ancient Chinese wisdom, are our ancient culture treasure. And many of them can still be put into practice in many fields, such as business and daily life. The following are four of them. Let’s enjoy the charm of our traditional culture.
Stratagem One When a thief is in your house, you’d better shut your doors at once in order to prevent him from running away. Why There are two reasons. First, if you let your enemy run away, he will come back. Second, once your enemy succeeds in running away, it is dangerous for you to chase him.
Stratagem Two This stratagem is from a poem by Du Fu. A line in the poem reads “To shoot the man on horseback, shoot his horse first; to catch the robbers, capture their leader first.” In a war if you want to beat the enemy, attack the leader first. Once the leader is caught, his forces (部队) will break down and fall into chaos.
Stratagem Three The Chinese always believe that tigers are more powerful when they are in the mountains. Once they leave mountains, they will become less powerful. And there are a few Chinese sayings linking tigers with mountains. The stratagem advises you not to directly attack an enemy in his own area. Instead, you should try to make him leave his place first, making him lose the geographical advantage. In this way, your enemy will be beaten easily.
Stratagem Four Experienced fishers all know how to prevent a hooked(上钩的) fish breaking the fishing line. Move the line from side to side to gradually make the fish get tired and calm down, and then you can catch it easily. In the same way, once your enemy is trapped (落网), he will often struggle, trying to run away. Leave him the false feeling that he still has a chance to run away. When he gets tired and loses his guard, you can capture him with less difficulty.

One day, Ammaar Reshi was playing around with a chatbot called ChatGPT. It’s a computer program. It uses AI to think and write in a similar way to humans. Reshi decided to use it to make a children’s book. The chatbot helped Reshi come up with a story about a girl named Alice. Reshi created pictures using another AI program, Midjourney. It translates words into pictures.
The book, Alice and Sparkle, was done in just a couple of days. Reshi posted about the book on Twitter. Not everyone was pleased. Some people praised him for his creativity. But artists disagreed. They said the artwork was poor. The way the art was created was also a problem.
Midjourney searches through millions of pictures on the Internet. Then it is trained to create new ones. “The main problem to me about AI is that it was trained off of artists’ work,” illustrator(插图画家) Adriane Tsai says. “It’s our creations…that we did not agree to being used.” Many artists and writers are nervous about the future. Will people pay for their work if it can be done cheaper using AI
Some companies(公司) are already choosing AI over human talent. The San Francisco Ballet used pictures created by Midjourney to make its production of The Nutcracker known. At a comedy club, an AI-powered robot told jokes. “It’s deeply troubling to see people looking for cheap choices to real human writing, a reporter.
Reshi says tech companies should protect artists and writers: “It’s really important that the tech industry that’s working on these tools includes artists in the process(过程) of creation.”

You’ve been playing in a pool for almost an hour. When you get out of the pool, you will notice there are some wrinkles (皱纹) on your fingers. This is nothing new. But do you want to know the reason
In fact, your skin is covered with its own special oil. It is the surface of your skin. It can protect your skin and keep the water out. When you stay in the water for a long time, the oil will be washed off. The water can then get into your skin. This makes your skin doubled in some places but not in others. Then wrinkles appear as a result.
Anyway, there is no need to worry about the wrinkles. Once the water in the fingers has completely gone, they will go away soon and the skin will return to normal. They may even help protect you better. The wrinkles can give you a better grip in water or on wet ground so that you can’t fall easily. Then you can hold things and move more easily under water. Imagine a world without wrinkly fingers. How terrible it is!
Although it isn’t harmful to us, we still need to protect our hands carefully. What can we do to avoid getting wrinkly fingers The first is to cut down the amount of time when your hands or feet are in the water. The second is to have less contact (接触) with soap and other similar things. These things may break the outer surface of your skin. The last is to use plenty of hand cream. All of these methods will play a role in keeping your hands smooth.
61.What is the purpose of Paragraph 2
A.To tell how to avoid the wrinkles.
B.To explain why the wrinkles appear.
C.To list the advantages of the wrinkles.
D.To show the disadvantages of the wrinkles.
62.What does the writer think of the wrinkles on fingers
A.They can make people ugly.
B.They are helpful to protect us.
C.They are harmful to people’s health.
D.They will never disappear once there.
63.What does the underlined word “grip” probably mean in Chinese
A.防滑性 B.稳定性 C.包容性 D.抗压性
64.How can we avoid getting wrinkly fingers
a. By using fingers less.
b. By having less contact with soap.
c. By reducing the time in the water.
d. By using plenty of hand cream.
A.abc B.acb C.bcd D.abd
65.What is the structure of the passage (P=Paragraph)

Doctors say anger (怒气) can be very harmful, unless you learn how to deal with it. So what exactly do you know about anger 66 Some people express anger openly in a proper way. Others cry with anger, and shout loudly.
But other people keep their anger inside. They can’t or will not express it. 67 But many doctors think it is more dangerous to a person’s health than expressing anger. They say that when a person is angry, some hormones (荷尔蒙) come out of the brain. They speed the heart rate, raise blood pressure or sugar into the blood, etc. As a result, the person feels excited and ready to act.
So is there any way 68 They think the first step is to realize that you are angry and to know the real cause of the anger, then decide whether the cause is serious to you. If it is, they say, “ 69 You should wait until your anger has cooled down and you are able to express yourself in a proper way.” Doctors say that another good way to deal with anger is to find humor in the situation that has made you angry. 70
A.They try not to show anger.

There’s no doubt that inventions play an important part in our everyday lives. They’ve made our lives more and more convenient. However, it’s necessary for us to make good use of them.
When I was in Grade Seven, I began to play games on my phone. The games were interesting and I felt kind of relaxed when playing. However, every coin has two sides. Gradually, I found that it was getting more and more difficult for me to pay attention in class. And since I seldom played sports with friends, I got heavier and heavier. Finally, I realized that though the phone is a great invention, I shouldn’t let it influence my schoolwork and health. So I made a decision to break the bad habit.
Now, I’m one of the top students in class and I’m much fitter. As you can see, though the phone is a great invention, we shouldn’t spend too much time on it.
