Learning objectives
Take a look
What does this video talk about
Music talent Bo Ya loved playing High Mountain and Flowing Water, which could hardly be understood by anyone but a woodcutter named Zhong Ziqi.
Bo Ya cherished this friend who could understand his music and his mood and thoughts as well. When he heard that Ziqi died, Bo Ya thought no one could appreciate his music, so he smashed his zither(琴) and never played again.
The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it's the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him.
--- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Harry’s problem:
What advice can you give to these teenagers
He can talk to his friend about this problem first. If his friend also feels the same, perhaps it is time to rethink their friendship and let go of it.
Suggestions for Bill:
Bill and his best friend do not share the same interests now.
Jane misses her best friend from junior high school.
Suggestions for Jane:
She can keep in touch with her friend on social media. She can also pick a day to meet her friend in person.
Harry is too shy to make friends with the other boys in his class.
Suggestions for Harry:
He needs to be brave enough to be the first to say hi to his classmates. Then he will find they are friendly and a friendship may naturally grow.

↙ Whose advice would you prefer Why
I would take Cindy's advice. It will be a bit quick to say goodbye to an eight-year friendship with my best friend simply because of a misunderstanding. I am sure she would give me a reasonable explanation. After a heart-to-heart talk, I believe Amy and her friend will be what they were before.

↙ Task 1: Write an ending for the story.
Standing still, Amy was at a loss what to do next, with her eyes just fixed on Jenny. Both senses of sadness and anger welled up in Amy. Right at this moment, it was Jenny who came up and started a conversation. Jenny explained what brought the great stress and hurt to Amy was totally a misunderstanding. The girl who was seen Jenny chatting with was her sister and they were just on their way back home from hospital, after having a treatment on her cold.
Next day, Amy met her friend in the canteen.

↙ Task 1: Write an ending for the story.
As Amy walked over to Jenny, tears flashed down from both of their faces. “Jenny, it was my fault. I should never judge before we talked to each other.” Amy choked her words out. Reaching out her hands and giving Amy a hug, Jenny said sorry for ignoring Amy these days as well. Smiling at each other into eyes, they went out the canteen, as close as sisters again. Just as the saying goes, true friendship lasts forever.
When hearing what Jenny said, Amy felt so astonied.

I am sorry for the cold silences and hurt between you and your friend. However, I assume that Jenny might have a right to explain herself. It is possible that what you heard was not the whole story. Go and have a frank talk with her. I am sure you can work together to solve this problem.
