Anger is a kind of feeling. Many things can make you angry. When your teacher gives you too much homework, when your team loses an important game, and when a friend borrows your favourite thing and then breaks it, you may get really angry.
Usually, your body will tell you when you are angry. For example, you breathe faster, your face turns red, and you may want to break something or hit (打) someone, but sometimes, you hide (隐藏) your anger. For example, you may hide it in your heart. The problem is that if you do this, you may get a headache or your stomach may hurt.
In fact, it's not good to hide your anger, and it's normal for you to get angry sometimes. But anger must be let out in the right way, without hurting yourself or others.
When you get angry, you can talk about it with other people. It's helpful to talk about your anger with an adult, such as your parent, a teacher, etc. When you talk about anger, those bad feelings can start to go away. Here are some other things you can do when you start to feel angry: talk to a good friend; count from 1 to 100; give someone a hug; go for a bike ride; think about good things, etc.
Remember that how you act when you are angry can make everything better or worse. Don't let your anger control you.

My name is Jack. When my family moved to America in 2010 from a small village in Guangdong, China, we brought not only our luggage, but also our village rules, customs and culture. One of the rules is that young people should always respect (尊敬) the elderly. Unluckily, this rule led to my first embarrassment in the United States.
I had a part-time job as a waiter in a Chinese restaurant. One day, when I was serving food to a middle-aged couple, the wife asked me how the food could be served so quickly. I told her that I had made sure they got their food quickly because I always respected the elderly. As soon as I said that, her face showed great displeasure. My manager, who happened to hear what I said, took me aside and gave me a long talk about how sensitive (敏感的) Americans were and how they disliked the description "old" . I then walked back to the table and said sorry to the wife. After the couple heard my reason, they understood the cultural difference, so they laughed and were no longer angry.
In my village in China, people are proud of being old. Not so many people live to be seventy or eighty, and people who reach such an age have the most knowledge and experience. Young people always respect older people because they know they can learn from their rich experience.
After that, I changed the way I had been with older people. It is not that I don't respect them any more; I still respect them, but now I don't show my feelings through words.
16.Jack brought the couple their food very fast because .

19.Which of the following is TRUE
A. The more Jack explained, the angrier the couple got.
B. Jack wanted to show his feelings through words after his experience.
C. The manager went back to the table and apologized to the couple.
D. From this experience, Jack learned more about American culture.
20.The passage most probably comes from .
A. an English dictionary B. a fashion magazine
C. a TV guide D. a culture magazine

Our nearest neighbour is the moon. In the sky, the moon and the sun seem to be of the same size because the moon is much nearer.
The moon makes the tides—the changes in the level of the sea. The moon and the sun together pull the sea. In some parts of the world, the difference between "high tide" (when the sea is very near to the land) and “low tide” (when the sea is far away from the land) is very big. This is very important for ships.
The moon is very different from the earth. Gravity(重力)on the moon is six times weaker than that on the earth. There isn t any air. During the day, it is very, very hot but at night it is very, very cold. Nothing can live on the moon. If the moon goes between the earth and the sun, we have an eclipse of the sun(日食). The moon stops the light from the sun and we have night in the day.
If the earth goes between the moon and the sun, we have an eclipse of the moon(月食). The moon goes into the shadow(影子)of the earth and it disappears for a few minutes.
21.When the sea is far away from the land, we call it "________".
A. high tide B. low tide C. shadow D. gravity
22.Gravity on the earth is ________ times stronger than that on the moon.
A. five B. six C. seven D. eight
