I. Teaching Aims
1. 语言能力目标
1) To learn new words and phrases:shark, fin, cruel ,chain, ecosystem, industry, law, scientific, be harmful to, at the top of, the food chain...
2)To know something about sharks.
2. 文化意识目标
To educate students to protect the wild animals.
3. 思维品质目标
学生能掌握文章的谋篇布局结构,扑捉语篇中的重要信息,学生能就课文内容进行交流,并根据思维导图进行复述。
4. 学习能力目标
学生能运用略读(skimming)、跳读(scanning)等策略,获取文章大意,理解篇章结构,理解文章细节。
II. Key and difficult points
本节课的重点是
(1)学生能掌握正确的阅读技巧,提高捕捉信息、理解文章的篇章结构的能力;
(2)学生根据思维导图复述语篇,提高语言表达能力。
难点是让学生学会正确使用连词和结合生活实际讲述如何保护环境。
III Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Leading-inLet students enjoy a video about many endangered animals, and the lead in the topic.
Step 2 Pre-reading
1. Use some words to describe the sharks
2. Read the learning aims.
3. Words review.
Step 3 While-reading
Suppose the passage is a piece of news from newspapers. We are reporters, and the program is called “News Time”.
Task 1: Fast reading (match the main ideas)
Para.1 A. Two groups against “finning”.
Para.2 B. Something about shark fin soup.
Para.3 C. Why are sharks endangered now
Task 2: Scanning (finish the chart)
Where shark fin soup is popular
Number of sharks caught and traded every year
How governments can help
Two environmental groups
which are against “finning”
Task 3: Make a report
According to the chart, make a short report.
Task 4: Careful reading
1. Read Para.1 and answer the questions:
1) What is shark fin soup
2) what 's the fact when people enjoy a bowl of shark fin soup
2. Watch a video and answer the questions:
1). How do people deal with them when they catch the sharks
2). Without a fin, what will happen to a shark
3. Read again and answer:
1)What does the writer think of killing sharks
2).Why is it harmful to the environment
3).What do the two numbers mean
4. Read Para.3 and fill in the blanks.
What are the two environmental groups doing & what have they done

Step 4 Post-reading
Do a survey, there are 4 questions in the chart. Go to interview any student in class. Then make a class report

在讲完此课后,我有这样几点反思:
一、成功之处。
1、设计思路明晰。本节设计由潜入深,通过视频引入主题,然后我带领着学生一步一个脚印,渐渐进入每个任务去解决问题,让学生非常自然的领会本课的知识点。课件生动直观,加深了学生学习英语的兴趣,认为英语不再是课本上枯燥的没有生命力的文字,而是一种鲜活的动态语言。设置的任务给了学生一定的情境,让他们在真实的情境中去体验和感悟,并由此来获取并运用语言,这种教学重视学习主题的直接经验,具有独特的教学效果。在 while-reading过程中,学生通过自主学习,与同桌及小组同学讨论、探究、合作来完成任务,促进学生的能力发展。
2、重视教学过程的评价,及时奖励学生。 我认为只有促使学生从一个成功走向另一个成功,学生才能体会到学习的乐趣和成功的喜悦,也只有这样,学生学习英语的兴趣才能长久保持。因此我在教学中采用奖励,培养他们的成就感,给学生伸一个大拇指、一个笑脸,一句奖励的话语使学生情绪高涨,始终以饱满的热情参与课堂的学习。
二、不足之处。
1、本节课课上没有安排专门写作方面的练习。而写作对于九年级学生来说是非常重的,以后的教学中应结合教学内容适当安排相应阅读和写作的训练。
2、对于这节课我最大的不足就是设置问题的难易程度没有把握好,基本上没有坡度,中等及偏上的学生都能很容易地回答,因此,一方面,不能很好地发展他们的个性思维,另一方面,由于问题简单,优生的回答基本覆盖了整个课堂,中等偏下的学生没有时间和机会思考问题,他们逐渐就懒于动脑,甚至出现讲闲话的情况,如果能在设计课程的时候,分配好难易问题,照顾到整个课堂,优生和差生都有思考的空间,那么整个课堂气氛就更加热烈,学生也能更透彻地掌握问题了。以上是我对自己一节课的反思。要讲好课需要不断的完善和及时的反思。新课程改革对教师的能力提出了更高的要求。我们不仅是学生记忆的激活者,也是示范者,更是课堂教学的组织者、指挥者。因此我要更加努力探究教学理论,在实践教学中不断反思完善自己教学水平,争取有更大的提高
