探究一: Reading 1.Read the text and finish “Let’s Do it” Part 1-2.
2.Read the text again and translate the following sentences into Chinese.

探究二: Language Points
1.be sure of 确信 I am sure of what he said. 我确信他所说的。与sure有关的结构:
(1)be sure to do sth. 一定会做某事(一般指局外人的推测,主语可以是人,也可以是物) He is sure to win. 他一定会赢。 (2)be sure+ that从句 确信 He is sure that he can succeed.
他确信他能成功。(3)make sure +that从句 查明,弄清 She looked around to make sure that she was alone.她往四下里看看,是不是只有她一个人。 (4)for sure 无疑,肯定 He will be here for sure within an hour.他一小时之内肯定到这儿。
2.put on 穿上;戴上;上演 He puts on his best clothes for the party. 为了聚会他穿上了他最好的衣服。与put有关的短语:(1)put up 挂上,张贴,建立,举起 It’s time we put up the Christmas decorations in the living room.我们该在起居室里挂上圣诞装饰品了。 (2)put away 把……收起,储存 The fruit should be carefully put away.水果应小心存放起来。 (3)put out 熄灭,扔掉 They managed to put out the fire.他们设法把火扑灭了。 (4)put off 推迟,延迟 Why don’t you put off the meeting?你们为什么不推迟会议?
3.辨析 find,discover与invent
(1).find 找到,侧重于找到过去丢失的人或物,但有时也表示凭经验或偶然发现了一种东西。 I can’t find my English book.我找不到我的英语书了。
(2)discover 指“发现,找到”本已存在,但尚未被人类发现或认识的事物。 Columbus discovered America in 1492.哥伦布于1492年发现了美洲。
(3)invent 指“发明,创造”出世界上本来不存在的东西。如工具、方法、手段等。 Mr. Smith invented a new teaching method.史密斯先生发明了一种新的教学方法。
