探究二: Language Points
1.keep的用法:(1)keep+宾语+形容词,意为“使……保持某种状态”。 You can’t sneeze and keep your eyes open at the same time.你不能在打喷嚏的同时让你的眼睛睁着。
(2)keep sb. from doing sth. 阻止某人做某事,相当于“stop sb.from doing sth.”。 We should keep the children from swimming alone in the sea.我们应该阻止孩子们单独在海里游泳。
(3)keep (on) doing sth. 继续,重复做某事。 Keep smiling! 保持微笑!
2.how far 多远 用于询问两地间的距离,答语也要用表示距离的句子。
和how搭配的疑问短语还有:(1)how much 询问价格以及不可数名词的数量。How much is the meat?肉多少钱? (2)how many 询问可数名词的数量。 How many stamps have you collected?你已经收集多少张邮票了? (3)how old 询问年龄。—How old is your sister?你妹妹多大了?—She is seventeen. 她十七了。(3)how long 询问多长时间或物体的长度。 —How long do you spend on your homework?你花多长时间在你的家庭作业上? —Only an hour.仅仅一个小时。 (4)how often 询问某种行为或动作发生的频率。 —How often do you visit your parents?你多久去看望一次你父母? —Once a week.一周一次。 (5)how soon 询问多久以后。 —How soon will the play start? 这部戏剧将什么时候开始? —In ten minutes.十分钟后。
