探究一: Reading 1.Read the text and finish “Let’s Do it” Part 1.
探究二: Language Points 1.surprise 的用法: (1)surprise为及物动词,后面直接跟宾语,意为“使惊奇,使感到惊讶”。You surprise me. 你使我感到惊讶。(2)surprised 是surprise的过去分词形式,可以作形容词,通常作表语,表示人的状态,意为“吃惊的”。短语:be surprised at/by为固定搭配,意为“对……感到吃惊”。All of them were surprised at the UFO.他们都对不明飞行物感到吃惊。(3)surprise为名词,意为“惊奇;使人惊奇的事”。 也可以构成词组:in surprise“惊讶地”;to one’s surprise“令某人吃惊的是”。 I have a surprise for you. 我有一个惊喜给你。 To my surprise, he can finish this work in a short time.令我吃惊的是,他能在很短的时间内完成这项工作。
2.辨析 too,also与either 这几个词都表示“也”的意思。
(1)too多用于口语中,置于句末或句中,在句末时,通常其前有逗号,在句中时,前后都有逗号。Tom is a student,and Jack is a student,too.汤姆是学生,杰克也是学生。
I,too,have been to the Great Wall.我也去过长城。
(2)also通常置于实义动词之前,助动词、情态动词和be动词之后。He can speak English and he can also speak French.他会说英语,也会说法语。
(3)either用于否定句中,置于句末.My mother hasn’t been to Beijing. I haven’t been there,either.我妈妈没去过北京,我也没去过。
3.better and better 越来越好
(1)比较级+and+比较级意为“越来越……”。When spring comes,days get longer and
longer.当春天来临的时候,白天变得越来越长
(2) “the+比较级,the+比较级”表示“越……,越……”。The more you smile,the happier you will feel. 你笑得越多,你就会感觉越快乐。
