教学目标:
By the end of this period, students will be able to:
1.Watch a video and extract the key information from it;
2.Know and master the language points in the text;
3.Understand this passage through obtaining key information and details;
4.Improve critical thinking skills and think about how to deal with natural disasters.
教学重难点:
Lead the students to understand the basic information of the hot weather introduced in the text.
Guide students to think about the problem caused by extreme temperatures.

Step Ⅰ Lead-in
Activity 1 Watch a video
Watch the video and answer the questions.
1.(1)Where is the city
(2)What happened there
2.(1)How did people there react to the disaster
(2)What was the result

(2)It was close to a volcano and in the year 79 AD,the volcano erupted,and the city was destroyed.
