As you know, I love parties, so my parents have a birthday party for me every year. Today we have a party at home. My mother makes me a big cake. My father buys me an interesting book. My sister buys me a basketball because she knows I like playing basketball. My friends also come to my party. They all send me some nice presents. I’m very happy and thank them a lot. We share the birthday cake and then sing and dance happily. We really have a good time.

Choosing birthday presents
I have a happy family. There are four people in my family. They are my father, my mother, my brother and I. I always choose different gifts for them because different people like doing different things.
My father is fond of (=like) music and often listens to CDs of his favorite songs. So I would like to buy a concert ticket for him. When it comes to(当谈到) my mother, she loves doing sports and usually gets some exercise to keep healthy every morning. She thinks good health is the foundation ( n.基础) of everything. Therefore(所以),I decide to give her a pair of comfortable sports shoes on her birthday. My brother, who is a middle school student, always devotes himself to (devote oneself to doing专心致志于.. ) reading books in his study. In his mind, reading can not only help him broaden his horizon(开阔视野) but also have a better understanding of (对...有更好的了解) life. I want to buy some books for him.
They always like these useful and meaningful presents because whatever I choose, it's the thought that counts.(礼轻情意重，心意最重要).

When talking about birthday , everyone will treat it as a special day. I am so excited that I can’t sleep last night. Because today I will celebrate my birthday with a big party.
With the sun rising in the east, I get up with curiosity and enthusiasm. My house is decorated with beautiful balloons and paper-cuts. Not only my family but also my friends are at my house. They prepare a special cake for me. Knowing that I was born in the year of rat(鼠),they make a “mouse” cake for me.What a big surprise! Then, we share the cake and blow out the candles. Sharing cakes is the best part of the party. The whole room is full of laughter and happiness. I am happy because I get many presents. I love sports so my parents buy me a pair of shoes. My cousin gives me a book with a saying on the cover, “Books are the ladders of human progress.” I feel grateful.
