Using a dictionary
The words in a dictionary are in alphabetical order from A to Z. This helps us find words quickly.
If two words start with the same letter, we look at the second letter of the word we want to look up. If the first two letters of two words are the same, we look at the third letter, and so on.
Put the following words in alphabetical order. Write the numbers 1-8 in the blanks.

The simple past tense
Alice did not know what to do. Then she went back to the table and saw a little bottle on it. A note on the bottle said "DRINK ME".
Alice opened the bottle and drank a little. It tasted sweet. Alice liked it. She drank some more. Then she felt a little ill. She looked down and saw that her body became smaller and smaller.

Sample writing :
Alice read the note and thought carefully, “If the cake makes me smaller, I can creep under the door, and if it makes me larger, I can reach the key. ”
Alice ate the cake. Then she was quite surprised to find that the cake made her grow taller and taller. When she looked down at her feet, they were so far away. Alice was very frightened. She sat down and began to cry. After a while, there was a large pool full of tears round her.
Suddenly, Alice heard someone coming. It was the white rabbit returning. The white rabbit was so frightened by Alice that he quickly ran away. Alice had to swim through her own tears and met a mouse and some other animals. They were all swimming in the tears.
