It is an ancient port city that has a history dating all the way back to Roman times. There are countless historic sites to explore, and lots of museums with ancient relics from all over the UK.

英国国家美术馆（The National Gallery，又译为国家艺廊），是位于英国伦敦市中心特拉法加广场的正北方向。从达·芬奇、拉斐尔，到威尼斯画派、英国山水画派、法国写实派、前期印象派，直到塞尚、梵·高。所有学西画的画家，到英伦最幸福的事，便是天天啃着面包，喝着矿泉水泡在美术馆中。
目前国家美术馆已有2300多幅馆藏作品。收藏了13世纪到20世纪为数众多的欧洲各画派作品，许多是一代艺术大师们的稀世珍品，梵高的《向日葵》、莫奈的《睡莲》，修拉、高更、鲁本斯、米开朗基罗等作品都在其中。
Trafalgar Square is a traditional place for public meetings.
Houses of Parliament is also called the Palace of Westminster.
议会大厦，也称为威斯敏斯特宫，在大不列颠及北爱尔兰联合王国，两院制议会的所在地，包括下议院和上议院。它位于伦敦威斯敏斯特自治市镇泰晤士河左岸。
据说在丹麦国王英格兰克努特的统治下，该地点曾存在一座皇宫。1512年，这座宫殿遭受了严重的火灾，此后不再被用作皇家住所。圣斯蒂芬教堂在1550年用于下议院的会议，以前在威斯敏斯特大教堂的分会大楼举行;上议院使用了宫殿的另一间公寓。1834年的一场大火摧毁了整个宫殿。
