This text is a little ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) difficult for my students to understand because they have never encountered the present perfect tense before, and they may feel confused with the frequent occurrence of the “ have/has done” sentence patterns. But they will have a rough understanding of what the reading is about since they have known most of the words.

Improve their reading skills of skimming and scanning.
Understand the new words and then make full use of them.

Guide students to m ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ake a spider gram of the Trojan horse with key words or key phrases. Then ask students to practice retelling the story in pairs according to the spider gram, and finally choose three pairs to retell it in the front of the whole classmates. (5 min)
Role play (5 min)

One student acts as the Trojan captain, and the others act as Trojan soldiers and Greek soldiers respectively. Then ask them to act out the story in the text according to the main plots given.
