单元教学总体设计
单元名称 Teenage life
单元教学设计说明 The theme of this unit is the daily life of teenagers, especially their campus life. For instance, listening and talking part is about how to choose a club, reading and thinking shows a freshmen’s challenges, and the writing part guides students to solve these problems that students may encounter. Reading texts give clues to address these problems. It is hoped that students can use the information in this unit to reflect on their own lives so as to make better choices and make the best use of their time. Meanwhile, students will gradually develop a positive attitude toward life.
单元目标与重点、 难点 目标 Sort out activities, challenges and problems in senior high school; 2. Have a better understanding of common reading strategies (skimming, meaning guessing); 3. Analyze the present problems and try to find solutions, living positively.
重点 By sorting out the ways to deal with the problems faced by other high school students, student can deal with challenges in daily life, adopting a positive attitude
难点 Guide students to address their own problems and live a positive life, which can contribute to their growth and development.
单元整体教学思路 1.Listening and speaking (1):Have a better understanding of the school club and talk about Ss’ interest in order to choose proper clubs; 2.Listening and Talking (1): Get to know camping and try to plan one; (The above two parts aim to familiarize students with school activities) 3.Reading and thinking (2);Learn about Adams challenges and his solutions, comparing the change of Adam. Know the structure of the text; Workbook reading (2): Learn more about face-down generation and figure out the structure of the text, which is a longer text, making preparations for later reading and writing; 4.Reading for writing (1): By analyzing the advice letter, students master the format, organization and language of an advice letter. Then they can write a letter of advice from the perspective of a teenager. 5. Discovering useful structure (1): Students have learnt the basic sentence structure. By comparing examples, Ss will learn writing needs to add more n./adj. etc. phrases to make sentences more informative.

二、教学分析
教材分析
The reading material is a letter of advice written by Susan Luo to help a person who is worried about his friend’s addiction to computer and online games. Students are familiar with the problem. This letter is made up of five parts, which are date, greeting, body, close and signature. In addition, knowing what the problem is and how he/ she feels is illustrated in the first paragraph and her advice, reasons and expectations in the second paragraph. Students can think about the problems mentioned in the former reading passage and gather more solutions, which are also helpful in their daily life, leading students to face challenges and difficulties positively.
学情分析 Students in grade 1 are faced with different challenges in the past month, ranging from study to daily life with classmates and teachers. They may have the same problem with the students mentioned in the text. Undoubtedly, this letter is of great use to them. Teacher leads students to become familiar with the basic format, organization and language of an advice letter. Then they can also find solutions in group discussion and writing, which can let them better accustomed to senior high school.

1.Warm-up: Ask Ss about their problems in senior high school. 2. Lead-in: Show the pictures of the people and ways that are helpful to solve problems. Then share the letter from lonely girl. 1.Follow the teacher. 2.Think about the question and answer together.
设计意图:To introduce the topic today —— write a letter of advice.

Reading: Task 1: Reading for details. Ask questions about the details. a. Who has a problem b. What is the problem 2.Guide students to answer. Then, check the answers with the whole class. Task 2: Reading for format. Check answer directly. Task 3: Reading for organization. Play record and check answers one by one by asking individual students. Task 4: Reading for language. Show the underlined expressions and guide students to analyze one by one quickly. Guide student to make a summary about the outline of advice letter on PPT. Scan the letter quickly and answer questions. Follow teacher to get the format quickly. Listen to the tape carefully and finish the match individually. Appreciate the useful expressions and pay attention to their usage.
设计意图:To clearly know the format, organization and useful expressions of an advice letter as well as making preparations for writing.

Writing: Lead students to review the situation of the lonely girl. Assign discussion and writing task clearly. Monitor students’ group work and if necessary, help them. Organize the group presentation and give assessment as an example, and then guide students to evaluate. Homework. 1. Listen carefully about the discussion and writing assignment. 2. Finish task actively and attentively. 3.Share group work and try to assess each other referring to the given criteria.
