12.________ to so many advertisements, we can’t help ________ to buy what we don’t really need.
A.Exposed; persuading B.Exposing; being persuaded
C.Exposed; being persuaded D.Being exposed; persuading

A.in which B.by which C.of which D.on which

A.So lucky was he; traveled B.So lucky he was; traveled
C.So lucky was he; had traveled D.So lucky he was; had traveled
在so... that… So lucky was he;It is(was)the first time that…

When I was 12 years old, I already knew that my teen years were going to be the worst years of my life. I was a total outsider, bullied (欺凌) at school. I felt completely alone in my small town.
But by starting to do volunteer work when I was 14, I turned my problem into a passion for helping others. The opportunity to practice kindness made me feel like my life had a greater purpose. The more positive energy I shared, the more kindness and appreciation I received. I realized that my purpose in life would be to reach out to people, specifically teenagers, and help them feel less alone.
Books were my true friends back then. I was so thankful that the authors wrote those books. The kindness they offered me with their books saved my life. One of my biggest dreams was to become an author so I could write books that would help other teenagers the way those books helped me.
After surviving terrible experiences at school and at home, I made a choice to take the optimistic, positive road in the next steps of my journey. My dream career, one I thought was only possible for the authors I loved, is what I am doing now. I have been a full-time author of teen novels since 2007 and am grateful for this amazing opportunity to reach out to readers every single day.
Kindness saved me when I needed help the most. Even small acts of kindness can change someone’s life. You never know what someone else is going through. But by practicing daily kindness, you become an architect of positive change.

A.Say “no” to bullies bravely. B.Make positive changes in their lives.

For generations, we’ve spent the first third of our lives acquiring the college degrees we need to find jobs. These degrees are the stamps on our professional passports that pave the way for the remaining two-thirds of our journey. However, the future of work won’t be about college degrees, it’ll be about job skills.
According to the World Economic Forum, over one billion jobs, almost one-third of all jobs worldwide, are likely to be transformed by technology in the next decade. We’ve already seen this happen. Think of the apps you use to shop, track orders and simply stay informed. The stores need to keep them up and running at all hours, day after day, all year round, meaning they need those who can analyze and secure customer data.
In these and other similar situations, people are the organizing force making sure technology works the way we want it to. This means a quick rise in new kinds of digital jobs. According to the Forum’s Jobs of Tomorrow report, there’ll be a rapid influx of roles at the forefront of the data and AI economy, as well as new roles in engineering, cloud computing and product development. These jobs need talent with relevant skills, and importantly these skills can be learnt even by those without college degrees.
Shifting our focus from degrees to skills will mean transitioning (过渡) to always-on skills-based education and employment organizations that acknowledge not just certification but fitness-for-job and employment as outcomes. In recent years, several companies have focused on continuous learning for the workforce — the trend will become stronger.
When it comes to skills, employers look for more than just technical panies want people with an eye for detail, creative problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset and an ability to handle complex issues. These also are skills that can be learnt. Anyhow, lifelong learners with ever relevant skills will be in greater demand in the workplace.
46.What is the function of Paragraph 1
A.To propose a definition. B.To present an argument.
C.To give an example. D.To make a comparison.
47.How does technology influence the jobs
A.It calls for higher demands for degrees. B.It makes many jobs less challenging.
C.It reduces their dependence on degrees. D.It connects them with degrees closely.
48.What does the underlined word “influx” in Paragraph 3 probably mean
A.Increase. B.Recovery. C.Decline. D.Change.
49.What will future employers value most concerning their staff
A.Their traditional technical skills. B.Their continuous learning abilities.
C.Their certification-based education. D.Their desire to start their own business.
50.What might be the best title for the text
A.Skills Are Different From Degrees B.Degrees Will Be More Competitive
C.Degrees Will Shape the Future of Work D.Skills Are More Vital for Future Work

Since 2001, robotic tools have revolutionized the practice of surgery. They have greatly reduced the stress and physical demands normally placed on surgeons and have made certain procedures possible.
One example is "keyhole surgery", or minimally invasive (微创) surgery, which normally requires surgeons to stand at awkward angles and make difficult movements with their hands to make a cut inside the patient. But in June 2022, surgeon James Ansell used 3D glasses and two joysticks (操纵杆) to control four robotic arms to perform a procedure to remove a cancerous tumor (肿瘤). "My colleague said . that this feels like cheating, " Ansell said to The Guardian.
Another area of surgery that has had major technological breakthroughs in recent years is telesurgery. Telesurgery, or remote surgery, is the use of technology that allows a surgeon to perform a procedure on a patient not in the same physical location.
Normally, telesurgery relies on a wired connection due to concerns of harming the patient if a wireless connection were to drop during surgery, but China made several advancements in wireless telesurgery based on 5G technology.
China achieved the first 5G-based remote operation in March 2019 involving a brain surgery procedure between a surgeon in Sanya and a patient in Beijing, a distance totaling nearly 3, 000 kilometers, reported CGTN. More recently, a team of surgeons successfully completed remote micron-level eye surgery on rabbits located in a different city, reported China Daily. The rabbits were at the Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, whereas the surgical team who operated on them via a 5G robot were at the Hainan Eye Hospital in Haikou, Hainan province.
Looking to the future, people hope that remote surgery could become commonplace to help heal injured soldiers on the battlefield while keeping surgeons at a safe distance. Some even believe that robotic systems, combined with AI, could one day surpass human surgeons. In 2022, engineers at Johns Hopkins University in the US used their Smart Tissue Autonomous Robot (STAR) to suture (缝合)the ends of a severed intestine (断肠) in four pigs, showing that certain procedures can be done autonomously by robots.
But, given current technological limitations and the high costs of these robots which can cost millions of dollars, the complete robot takeover of surgery may still be a while off.
51.What does the "keyhole surgery" example intend to show
A.The complexity of robotic surgery.
B.The challenges in using robotic tools.
C.The progress enabled by robotic tools.
D.The need for advanced 3D technology.
52.What significant achievement did China make in the field of telesurgery
A.Achieving remote surgery using a wired connection.
B.Completing remote eye surgery on humans successfully.
C.Conducting the first 5G-based remote operation on rabbits.
D.Performing the first wireless brain surgery with 5G technology.
53.What can be inferred about robots in the medical field from the passage
A.They have not yet been in use.
B.They are currently in high demand.
C.They have surpassed human capabilities.
D.Their development still has a long way to go.

When I think of the hardest moments of my life, ironically many have turned out to be blessings. The most severe one was being pretty much kicked out of my. PhD program at the University of Georgia in 2016.
The program in Georgia turned out not to be the right fit for me despite my best efforts. The whole year was riddled with exhaustion, insecurity, fear, and exclusion. I was in therapy myself for most of the year to cope, and the only thing that made it tolerable was a lot of support from my family and friends.
I was utterly devastated when I went back home; it felt like my career was over. Fast forward to today, however, and I can see that getting driven out of the Georgia program was one of the best things that ever happened to me. In 2017, when I transferred to a doctoral program in San Diego, I began to thrive and now my business is doing exceptionally well. I am deeply grateful I studied in San Diego and happy that I didn’t stay in Georgia. It was great that I was driven out! As the saying goes, “What seems like good or bad news now can turn out to be the opposite in the future.”
Ironically, the research and writing training from the University of Georgia significantly helped me develop my academic, professional, and personal writing. I worked hard in Georgia and it paid off: The learning and growth I experienced were incomparable.
As my personal example demonstrates, life is a total rollercoaster. Every now and then you are able to discover a new high, a ceiling-breaking moment, whereas in other moments you may feel like you’re falling deeper and deeper into hell. While these experiences can be incredibly tough, they present us with valuable opportunities to trust life and cultivate personal growth and learning.
56.What was the author’s most severe moment of his life (No more than 8 words)
___________________________________________________________________________
57.What’s the meaning of the underlined phrase in paragraph 2 (No more than 3 words)
___________________________________________________________________________
58.What message does the author want to convey with his personal experience in the 3rd paragraph (No more than 15 words)
___________________________________________________________________________
59.Why did the author thank the University of Georgia (No more than 10 words)
___________________________________________________________________________
60.What will you do if you are in a dark moment Please explain. (No more than 20 words)
56.His almost being kicked out of PhD program 57.be full of 58.What seems like bad news now can turn out to be good in the future 59.The research and writing training helped him professionally and academically 60.I will seek support and stay positive, believing that the difficulties are temporary and trying to find a solution.
根据文章第一段“When I think of the hardest moments of my life, ironically many have turned out to be blessings. The most severe one was being pretty much kicked out of my. PhD program at the University of Georgia in 2016. (当我回想起生命中最艰难的时刻时,具有讽刺意味的是,许多事情最后都变成了我的祝福。最严重的一次是我几乎被踢出2016年在乔治亚大学的博士项目。)”可知,作者一生中最艰难的时刻是在2016年作者差点被踢出在乔治亚大学的博士项目。故答案为His almost being kicked out of PhD program。
根据划线词组下一句“I was in therapy myself for most of the year to cope, and the only thing that made it tolerable was a lot of support from my family and friends. (我大部分时间都在接受治疗来应对这种压力,而唯一让我能够忍受这一切的是来自家人和朋友的巨大支持。)”可知,由于课程不适合作者,作者整整一年都充满了疲倦、不安全、恐惧和排斥。由此可知,划线词组的意思和“充满”相似。故答案为be full of。
根据第三段内容“I was utterly devastated when I went back home; it felt like my career was over. As the saying goes, “What seems like good or bad news now can turn out to be the opposite in the future.” What seems like bad news now can turn out to be good in the future。
根据文章第四题“Ironically, the research and writing training from the University of Georgia significantly helped me develop my academic, professional, and personal writing. I worked hard in Georgia and it paid off: The learning and growth I experienced were incomparable. (具有讽刺意味的是,乔治亚大学的研究和写作训练对我的学术、专业和个人写作都有很大的帮助。我在乔治亚努力学习,并得到了回报:我经历的学习和成长是无与伦比的。)”可知,作者感谢乔治亚大学是因为那里的研究和写作训练对他的学术、专业和个人写作能力发展有重要帮助。故答案为The research and writing training helped him professionally and academically.
I will seek support and stay positive, believing that the difficulties are temporary and trying to find a solution.
