We can use words like really, just, so and such to show emphasis.
*He ran the race so quickly!
*There are only so many hours in a day.
*It's just what I wanted!
*I really and truly am sorry.
*Why are you in such a hurry
*This issue was of such importance that we could not afford to ignore it.

We can use auxiliary verb do to emphasize the verb of a sentence.
*I do love it so.
*Do be careful with the experiment you're doing.
*He does look tired.
*He certainly did come to see me yesterday.
用于表示强调的do可以有时态的变化,但只用于现在时或过去时(do, does, did),其后要跟动词原形。

We can use “it is + the part to be emphasized + that/who-clause” to add emphasis.

1. It was I that (who) met Li Ming at the railway station yesterday. (强调主语)
2. It was Li Ming that I met at the railway station yesterday. (强调宾语)
3. It was at the railway station that I met Li Ming yesterday. (强调地点状语)
4. It was yesterday that I met Li Ming at the railway station. (强调时间状语)
eg: I met Li Ming at the railway station yesterday.
*此强调结构可以用来强调句子里除谓语、定语、补语外的各种成分,以引起听者或读者的注意。
*在该结构中,前后时态一致,且将It is/was ... who / that ...去掉,句意通顺,句子结构完整。
①主谓一致:被强调部分作主语时,其形式与谓语动词在人称和数上保持一致。
*It is I who am responsible for this project.
*It is he who/that often does good deeds.
②人称照应:强调主语用主格,强调宾语用宾格。
*l saw him yesterday.
→lt was him that l saw yesterday.
对“not…until…”部分进行强调
It was not until yesterday that I learned it.
eg: I didn't learn it until yesterday.
eg: The first of the vitamins wasn't identified until 1911.
It was not until 1911 that the first of the vitamins was identified.
对“not…until…”进行强调,常会使用句型“It is / was not …until…that…”, 意思是“直到……才……”。

The middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze are known as "a land of fish and rice" by the Chinese. It is its favourable conditions that make it one of China’s most fertile, populous and important rice-producing regions. …
The middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, one of China’s most fertile and populous regions, are known as “the land of fish and rice”. So favourable are the conditions of this region that it has become one of the most important rice-producing regions in China. The vast flat Donting Lake Plain and Yangtze Delta Plain are really important farming areas. The many numerous lakes and connecting waterways do provide the region with plenty of irrigation sources. It is the river carrying fertile soil with silt that provides nutrients for crop farming. Without doubt, the hot and humid weather in summer is ideal for crop cultivation. In addition to rice, other essential crops such as cotton and oilseed rape are also grown here.
