教学设计标题:Unit 2 Let’s talk teens. Let’s write! Period(III)
学情分析:本课时是写作课型,由Haley与母亲的冲突,向他人寻求建议为话题,写一封建议信。内容符合高一学生实际情况。以之前Let’s talk 和Let’s read做铺垫,学生已对亲子冲突所产生的问题和矛盾以及如何正确解决这些问题有了较深的理解,对于亲子关系中存在的问题和解决方法能各抒己见,恰当地表达自己的建议。
教学目标: I. Learning objectives By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Students will be able to write a letter of advice with the guidance of the teacher; 2. Students will be able to give suggestions and help others to solve problems on parent-child relationships.
教学重难点: II. Key competence focus 1. Improve students’ abilities to writing; 2. Let students know the structure of writing a good suggestion letter; III. Predicted area of difficulty Let students write a letter of advice correctly.
教学过程: IV. Teaching procedures Step I Lead-in 1. A guessing game: Who write this letter 2. Ask students read a letter from Haley and find out what problem she has. 【设计意图:设置猜一猜游戏,引起学生兴趣,并引出建议的话题】 Step II Pre-writing Group work 1. Let students talk about what main problem they have in parent-child relationship, 2. Write down the problems their classmates have on the mind map. 3. Discuss the problems in groups and try to give advice to them. 4. Let one group show their mind map. 【设计意图:让学生根据自身实际提出问题,并能恰当地给对方建议,利用鱼骨图,使学生对问题和建议有更直观的感受。为While-writing做铺垫。】 3. A letter of advice: (1)Activity: Predict what advice Kate gives to Haley. (2)Analyze the letter: ①What topic is in this letter ②What tense does the letter use ③What about person ④The structure of a letter of advice. ⑤Find out transition words in the letter. ⑥What’s the language style ⑦Find out some useful expressions we can use in the letter. 3. Finish the mind map as below. 4. Let one group show their mind map. 【设计意图:引导学生感知建议信的结构,体会语言风格,构建思维导图,为之后的写作打下基础。】 Step III While-writing 1. Please follow the example to write a letter of advice according to two mind maps you have finished. 2. Have a try. 【设计意图:通过两个思维导图,让学生根据鱼骨图提出的问题和建议,结合第二张思维导图-建议信的特征,结合模板写信。】 Step IV After writing 1. T leads the students to check their writing after they finish and exchange drafts between partners. 2. Let some of students share their letters. 【设计意图:引导学生通过自评、生生互评,不断反思,取长补短,共同发展。】 Step V Homework Polish up their writings with useful expressions after class.
