学情分析:本课时是听说课型,以讨论父母与子女的关系中的问题为话题,为之后两节课Let’s read!和Let’s write做铺垫,话题内容符合高一学生年龄发展特征。高一学生思维活跃,敢于提出不同见解,对事物有一定的是非判断能力,学生已经储备了一定的英语知识,能较好地展开话题讨论,各抒己见。
教学目标: I. Learning objectives By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Predict based on the given information and listen for the key information; 2. Understand the usage of the following words and expressions: argument, from one’s point of view, force sb. to do sth., be eager to do sth., compare…with…, turn a deaf ear to… 3. Use the above words and expressions in new situations 4. Share their comprehension and stories of parent-child relationships;
教学重难点: II. Key competence focus 1. Improve students’ abilities to listening; 2. Improve students’ abilities to speaking; 3. Learn to predict before watching and listening. III. Predicted area of difficulty Explore the problems in parent-child relationships.
教学过程: IV. Teaching procedures Step I Lead-in 1. A short introduction of members in Haley’s Family. 2. Watch a short video: Haley’s Trouble Questions: (1)Where did the story happen? (2)What happened between Haley and her mom 【设计意图:创设情境,通过Haley与母亲的故事片段,引起学生的共鸣】 Step II My Understanding 1. Prediction before watching: What will happen next Haley will continue to persuade her father to help her. Haley will start a warm and open conversation with her mother. Haley will make a heated argument with her mother. Haley will try to understand her mother from her point of view. 2. Watch the video again and answer the following questions.
