本单元的主题语境是“人与自我”,话题是“父母与子女的关系”,本版块是Let’s Talk部分,主要是由影片中Haley与母亲的问题和冲突,让学生联系自身实际,通过思考和回答问题以及思维导图的形式,说一说亲子关系中的问题导致的矛盾冲突。为下节课的Let’s read做铺垫。

话题内容符合高一学生年龄发展特征。高一学生思维活跃,敢于提出不同见解,对事物有一定的是非判断能力,学生已经储备了一定的英语知识,能较好地展开话题讨论,各抒己见。
