单元名称: Unit 2 Success 授课内容: Top Five Secrets of Success
教学内容分析/文本分析
What:Top Five Secrets of Success分两部分,本课的主题语境是人与自我,课型是听力课。本课第一个听力语篇为演讲,,内容是成功的五大秘诀,分别是be passionate,be confident,work hard ,set your goal high and keep trying,同时每个秘诀分别辅以一个著名人物成功的故事(包括袁隆平、马云、比尔盖茨、德约科维奇和J.K罗琳等),他们经历了数年的努力后,在各自的领域取得了顶尖成就。第二部分是一则对话,介绍一本书成功的秘诀,内容是在学习对话中如何表示感兴趣。 Why: 作者希望学生通过本课了解实现成功的方法和途径,以及一些指明成功人士如何通过自己的努力取得成功。同时希望学生能够意识到成功来之不易,并且能够认真思考并选择正确的方法和途径获取成功。作者在探讨了实现成功的不同途径以及形式的同时,引导学生给出自己对成功的定义。 How: 作者通过两篇听力稿及相关练习引导学生产生对成功正确的认识。第一篇听力语篇是演讲,结构清晰。主要由五个部分构成。每个部分各讲述一个成功的秘诀并辅以著名人物成功的故事。以此激励学生志存高远,锐意进取。第二篇听力语篇是对话,在对话中阐释相应信息。
教学目标
【学习理解—获取与梳理】 1. 联系现实生活经历,获取主题“成功”相关的信息,梳理成功的品质或秘诀的词汇短语; 【应用实践—分析与判断、内化与运用】 2. 结合所学,尝试分析、判断文中人物取得成功的秘诀; 3. 结合文本框架,通过减时轮流叙述的方式内化、运用文中人物取得的成就和他们成功的秘诀; 【迁移创新—批判与评价】 4. 基于课文主旨,反思成功的定义,批判性地看待和评价成功的定义及意义。

联系现实生活经历,感知、注意本课“成功的秘诀”的主题;获取成功主题相关的信息,梳理成功的秘诀或品质的词汇短语; Activity 1 (5 mins): T uses an example of shopping APP, Taobao, and its founder, Ma Yun, to introduce the topic, “secrets of success”. (T: Good morning boys and girls. How are you going these days I spent plenty of money last Friday. Do you remember the date of last Friday…Yes, Double Eleven! Right. And do you know which app I use The orange one) T: Then, do you know who is the founder of Taobao S: Ma Yun T: Yes, Ma Yun is the founder of Taobao. And he is also the founder of Alibaba. And do you think he is successful … Why do you think so Do you know other successful people ) S: … Then, T lists some related phrases and invites Ss to choose words or phrases about secrets or qualities of success. T: What do you think are the top secrets of their success. Can being lazy lead to their success Can being dishonest lead to their success. What do you think We should have a clear goal such as to earn a million a year. And we should love and feel excited about what we are doing, it means, we should be passionate. And we also need to have the confidence to be successful, it means, we should be ambitious. And if we fail at the first time, should we give up Anything else that come to your mind For example, to be ambitious to be passionate to have a clear goal to keep trying to be hardworking to be talented to be patient to be brave 通过结合现实生活的热点话题“双十一”购物节,吸引学生注意,让学生感知本课成功主题的相关信息,并通过提问让学生梳理成功的秘诀相关词汇短语。
结合所学,尝试分析、猜测文中人物取得成功的秘诀 Activity 2(4mins) The teacher will show 5 pictures of the figures in the column and ask the students to look at the column in Exercise 4. Then she will ask the students to discuss with their pairs to think about the possible secrets for the representative figures by using the words they have learned in activity 1. T: We will later listen to a video about 5 representative successful figures, they are Yuan Longping, Ma Yun, Bill Gates, Novak Djokovic and J.K. Rowling. Please look at the column on page 34, the first row are about their secrets and the second row is the evidence that support their secrets, and the last row describe how successful they are. First discuss with your partner and think of the possible secrets of their success with the help of the column. You can use the words we have learned. Then the teacher will ask some students to share their answers. 调动学生参与活动积极性,并让学生结合上一个教学环节学习的词组造句,帮助学生更好梳理和记忆成功主题相关的词汇短语; 通过阅读表格,了解听力文本的大致主题,再结合小组讨论,学生能够预测听力文章的主要内容。
初听文本材料,获取文本大意,梳理成功的秘诀; Activity 3 (4 mins): Ss listen to the recording for the first time. T asks Ss to check their previous prediction and write down the five secrets they hear in the first column of the form. After finishing it, the T will ask Ss to discuss in pairs. Then, the T will invite some Ss to share their answers with the class. (T: Does your prediction correspond to the recording What’s the top five secrets of success in the recording ) 学生带着任务第一次听文本材料,了解文本大意并梳理出文章的主要信息,同时,学生能够核对前期预测的结果。
再听文本材料,获取不同人物取得成功的细节,梳理成功的秘诀 Activity 4 (5 mins): T invites ss to listen the record for the second time. Ss are required to complete the five following details according to the record in 3 mins. After that, the Ss should share their answers within groups of 4, then the teacher will ask some students to share their answers in the class. (T: Do you know what are their achievements and how exactly they realized it Listen carefully to the record again and finish the whole column. If you have no time to write down the answers, you can just write down the key words or the first few letters. I will give you 1 minutes to finish after we finish listening. ) 学生带着任务第二次听文本材料,在了解不同成功秘诀的基础上对应到相关的人物及其事迹上,并通过小组讨论检验预期效果
第三次听文本,在自己和小组合作的基础上,对文本进行进一步梳理与整合 Activity 5 (6 mins): T will play the record and ask students to pay much attention to where they are not sure. After that, the teacher will ask some students to have a short discussion and share their answers. (T: This is the last time to play the audio and you should bring in the answers we just identified for one last revision.) 教师邀请学生展示并交流小组答案,通过分享得出最后正确答案。第三次播放音频,加深学生印象。
根据活动五中的表格,小组进行讨论,并分享课本人物之一,用自己的语言表达成功及其事迹 Activity 6 (8 mins): T organizes students to communicate and share a succeeded on the basis of the text (Activity 4) in groups of 4. After that, T will invite some volunteers to share with us in the class. (T: Now each member chooses one successful person to introduce to other members based on the notes in Activity 4.) 运用课本中学到相关表达,小组进行讨论介绍一位成功的人物,之后教师再邀请同学们进行展示,内化所学知识
学生可以借助所学词汇及activity4的结构,以口头的形式简单介绍他们人为的成功人士及其身上的品质 Activity 7(6 mins) The teacher will ask students to share successful figures in groups and list some qualities or their secrets to success in groups of four with the help of the form in activity 4. After the discussion, the teacher will invite some students to share in class. (T: There are many successful people in the world and we have known some of them at the beginning of the class. So, now please share the successful people with us about their achievements and their secrets to success. Besides, you should offer some supporting facts. If you do not know how to begin, please refer to activity 4.) 学生在lead-in阶段提出很多他们认为的成功人士但他们实际上不知道为什么这些人是成功的也不知道这些人身上的品质或者成功的秘诀
基于课文主旨,反思成功的定义,批判性地看待和评价成功的定义及意义。 Activity 8 (5 mins): The T asks ss what their own definition of success is after learning about so many successful people and their events. While letting students think about it, the T adds some stories of ordinary heroes and people from different aspects to enrich students' understanding. The T invites students to share their views and summarizes them. The teacher guides the students to think dialectically about the definition of success and pursue the true value of life. (T: Combining your textbook knowledge and life experience, what do you think the definition of success should be ) 通过使学生结合课本知识和生活经验,使其生成关于成功的定义的认识。 教师应当引导学生形成正确的价值观,追求自己认知中的成功。
总结与作业 Summary and Homework (2 mins) The T will summarize what they have learned in the lesson and help ss recall what they have learned by asking them simple questions such as what are the five secrets to success. Ss are asked to complete the given homework. Write a paragraph based on the person they chose in Activity 2, describing their relevant events and reasons for achieving success. 老师的总结帮助学生回顾本节课堂所学,让学生在介绍自觉得成功的人士的时候使用所学表达,并结合自己经验和所学知识,表达自己的看法。
