名词性从句的含义
所谓名词性从句即是因为该从句具有名词的性质与功能，故以名词性从句来命名。四类从句判定的依据主要根据从句所处的位置关系来进行。
主语从句：作句子主语的从句叫主语从句。
eg. Whether the problem is solved is uncertain.问题是否解决尚未确定。
宾语从句：作句子宾语的从句叫宾语从句。
eg.I firmly believe (that) tomorrow will be better.我坚信明天会更好。
表语从句：位于系动词之后作表语的从句叫表语从句。
eg.He looked as if/as though he was ill.他看起来好像生病了。
同位语从句：说明其前面的名词的具体内容的从句叫同位语从句。
eg.I have no idea that you have already come.我不知道你已经来了。
引导名词性从句的引导词

whether/if(是否) as if/as though(好像) because（因为） 注：此栏只引导表语从句 不作成分，有意义

whom(谁) whomever(无论谁)

连接副词 when(时候) whenever(无论何时) 作状语，有意义

why(为什么)
how(怎样)+often long/ much/soon however(无论如何)
eg. 1. He thought the war was terrible.
2.The question is he will arrive on time.
3. It’s a pity we can’t go.
4. The question should do this job requires consideration
5. I want to know we’ll go.
6. I don’t want to know you are talking about.
7.She treats him he were a stranger.
8.There is no doubt we should protect our environment.
三、whether与if引导名词性从句的用法辨析
whether和if都可以表示“是否”，但是在引导具体的名词性从句时，两者是有区别的：
只用whether不用if引导的从句 可以用if来引导的从句(if表示“是否”)
1. 主语从句置于句首时 1. 动词或形容词后面的宾语从句
2. 表语从句
3. 同位语从句
4. 介词后面的宾语从句 2. it作形式主语而后置的主语从句也可用if来引导。如：It is not clear to me if she likes the present.
5. 直接与or not连用
6. 在不定式前，与不定式构成to do结构
eg.1. ______ we shall hold a meeting hasn't been decided yet.
2.It hasn't been decided yet ______ we shall hold a meeting.
3.The problem is ______we finish the task on time.
4.She doesn't decide ______ to tell her husband the truth.
5.I wonder ______ the news is true.
6.I'm not sure ______ I can pass the exam successfully.
7.I want to know______ or not the train goes to King Street.
8.We discussed ______ we can go there by bus.
