When I was in the third grade, I was picked to be the princess in the school play, and for weeks my mother had practiced with me. But no matter how well I performed at home, as soon as I stepped on stage, every word disappeared from my mind.
Finally, my teacher told me that she had written a narrator's(叙事者) part to the play, and asked me to change roles. Her words deeply hurt my heart.
I didn't tell my mother what had happened when I went home. Eut she sensed my unease, and asked if I wanted to walk in th: yard.
It was a lovely spring day. Under the trees, we could see yellow. dandelions(蒲公英) popping through the grass.“I'm going to dig up all the other plants,”my mother said,“From now on, we'll have only roses(玫瑰) in this garden.”
“But I like dandelions,”I protested.“All flowers are beautiful, eyen dandelions.”My mother looked at me seriously.“Yes, every flower gives pleasure in its own way, doesn't it ”she added,“And that is true of people too. Not everyone can be a princess, but there is no shame in that.”
After realizing that she had guessed my pain, I told her what had happened. She listened and smiled.“The narrator's part is as important as the part of a princess, ” she said, reminding me of how much Iloved to read stories.
Over the next few weeks, with her encouragement, I learned to take pride in the role. A few minutes before the play, I felt nervous, and my teacher came over to me.“Your mother asked me to give this to you,”she said, handing me a dandelion. Just looking at it, knowing my mother was out there, made me proud.
After the play, I took the flower home. My mother pressed it in a dictionary. We were perhaps the only people who would value such a sorry-looking flower.

Seating arrangements(安排) are very important in China. One should first introduce oneself, or let the master do the introduction if unknown to others, and then take a seat according to the master's arrangement. The seating arrangement is probably the most important part of Chinese dining.
If the guest of honor or the most senior member is not seated, other people are not allowed to be seated. If he hasn't eaten, others should not begin to eat. When making toasts(敬酒), the first toast is made from the seat of honor.

It's bad manners to use your chopsticks to search through the food and“di g for treasure”. When finding your favorite dish, you should not eat it up as quickly as possible or put the p late in front of yourself. You should consider others at the table. If there is not much left on a p late and you want to finish it, you should ask others for permission. If they say they don't want any more, then you can eat.
Concentrate on(专注于) the meal and others at the table. Watching television, using your phone, or'carrying on some other activities while having a me al is considered a bad habit.
Elegance(优雅)

Don't put too much food into your mouth at a time. If there is food around your mouth, use a. napkin to wipe it. When chewing food, don't make noises. Hitting the bowl with chopsticks is impolite, too. Never stick your chopsticks into the food or point at others with your chopsticks.
