表示行为或状态从过去一直持续到现在或许还要持续下去,要与表示一段时间的时间状语连用,如:for、since等。

在英语中,按照动作发生的方式,动作发生过程的长短,可以分为延续性动词和非延续性动词。
1、延续性动词表示能够延续的动作.
e.g. have, live, wear, keep, study, watch, know等。
2、非延续性动词(短暂性动词)表示动作不能延续,即动作发生后立即结束。
e.g. come, go, begin, open, buy, borrow, sell等。
延续性动词和非延续性动词
短暂性动词不能延续,因此不能与一段时间的状语连用。若要连用,则需把短暂性动词转换成延续性动词,这样才能和时间段连用。
(1)将短暂性动词转化为“be+形容词/副词”。
begin/start→be on come back→be back
leave → be away open→ be open
close→ be closed die → be dead
go\come here→be here fall asleep→ be asleep
fall ill→be ill join → be a member of/ be in
