It has been Wu Rongjin's dream to be a positive influence on her students since she started teaching at Luwan No.1Central Primary School in Shanghai.
The school, near the Memorial for the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC)(中共一大会址),has rich historical resources to help its students learn about the history of the CPC.
During a visit to the memorial in 2005, Wu noticed some of the students were not interested in the guide's description.Later, Wu arranged for the students to revisit the memorial, and write their own tour and narration script(解说词)in simple language. Wu wanted to help the students learn about the revolutionary(革命的)tradition in China, and treasure their happy lives.
A group of the students began working as tour guides, especially for visitors of their own age, at the memorial. The students' lively narrations have won high praise from visitors.
During the past 17 years, Wu has worked with the students(tour guides) to organize tours, write narration seripts.and explore new forms of narration in Chinese and English.
Many former members of the teenage narration team have continued taking part in related narration activities,even though many of them are now studying in middle schools or universities, or have even started working life.

In Oaxaca, Mexico, there is a special Iestival on December 23 called la Noche de Rábanos, or the Night of the Radishes (萝卜).Every year, artists from all over the country show their amazing radish sculptures(雕像).The artists work very hard,since the winner receives money and becomes champion. On the day, locals and tourists line up starting in the afternoon to see the sculptures.
More than one hundred years ago, there was a market on December 23 called la Vigila de Navidad. It was a special Christmas market with decorations. It's said that local businessmen at this market used to carve radishes as decorations.The carved radishes became very popular, and people started to buy them and take them home.
Now, you might be thinking, “Why radishes ” Probably because there are lots of radishes at this time of year. Also,their red and white colors are perfect for making designs. Over the years, pcople started to compete to see who could make the best sculptures. Finally that tradition has become today's yearly festival, which brings tourists from all over the world.
Every year people are excited to see what designs the artists will create. There are two types of sculptures: traditional designs and free designs. The traditional designs are related to Christmas, or designs related to Oaxaca. The free designs can be anything.
As you walk through the radish art, you'll hear live music, and you can even see the fireworks at the end. Close by there is delicious street food, Christmas markets, and many stores.

Over the past 5,000 years, China has given birth to a large number of cultural heritages. Among these are the beautiful porcelain wares(瓷器)produced in Jingdezhen in East China's Jiangxi Province. Here we explore their development and importance in today's society.
Jingdezhen is well-known around the world for its porcelain. It has produced porcelain since the Five Dynasties(907~960). Jingdezhen is known as the "porcelain capital" for its different kinds of porcelain wares with rich and cool styles. Of all the products, blue and white porcelain is the most famous. Such unique porcelains with the fine style have been praised as "the Treasure of China".
Starting in the Song Dynasty(906~1279),kilns(窑)appeared in every household in every village in Jingdezhen,which was key to the establishment of its porcelain tradition.
During the Yuan Dynasty(1271~1368), a new technique [or blue and white porcelain was invented. During the Ming (1368~1644) and Qing(1644~1911) dynasties, techniques for mining, painting,and firing were advanced, bringing Jingdezhen's porcelain craftsmanship(工艺)to a historic high. At that time, the establishment of the Zhushan Imperial Kiln and the growing porcelain market overseas accelerated the development of the industry, turning Jingdezhen into a major porcelain production center.
