Wind power is a powerful tool for reducing carbon emissions (排放) that cause climate change. The turbines (涡轮机), however, can be a threat to birds, which is why experts are looking for ways to limit the danger.
A company in Boulder, Colorado has produced a camera and AI based technology that can recognize eagles and other birds as they approach in enough time to make turbines pause in their flight path. Their tool, called IdentiFlight, can detect 5.62 times more bird flights than human observers alone, and with an accuracy rate of 94 percent. Using high precision visual sensors, the system calculates a bird's speed and flight track, and if it is on a collision (碰撞) path with a turbine, a signal is sent to shut that turbine down.
Winning an award for its performance in Australia, the tracking system was built in 2018 and was found to cut eagle deaths at the Cattle Hill Wind Farm by more than four fifths. Each day, signals have shut down their movement an average of 400 times—across the field of 48 turbines—for two to three minutes each time.
Bird lover and director of the National Audubon Society's Clean Energy Initiative, Garry George, admits, “Our own science shows that climate change is by far the biggest threat to birds and the places wildlife needs to survive. IdentiFlight will make it possible to fight the worst effects of climate change and at the same time protect the birds we love in the process.”
1.What contribute to IdentiFlight detecting birds' approaching
A.Cameras and AI. B.Human observers.
C.Changes to turbines. D.Birds' flying habits.
2.What happens at a wind farm with IdentiFlight when a bird is to knock into a turbine
A.The turbine is stopped temporarily. B.The turbine changes the bird's track.
C.The turbine kills the approaching bird. D.The turbine is out of work permanently.
3.What is Garry George's attitude towards IdentiFlight
A.Ambiguous. B.Reserved. C.Approving. D.Unconcerned.
4.What is the suitable title for the text
A.AI Keeps Track of Birds
B.Powerful Tools Save Nature
C.Climate Change Leads to Bird Deaths
D.AI Helps Wind Turbines Protect Birds

1 .根据上文“According to a study done by University of Michigan researchers, shopping to relieve stress was up to 40 times more effective at giving people a sense of control. (根据密歇根大学研究人员所做的一项研究,通过购物来缓解压力,给人一种控制感的效果要高出40倍)”以及后文“In fact, shopping to reduce stress can actually help you live a healthier life by making sure that your blood pressure is lowered. Shopping to relieve stress is also called retail therapy as a form of regulating stress. (事实上,通过购物来减轻压力可以让你的血压降低,从而帮助你过上更健康的生活。通过购物来缓解压力也被称为零售疗法,是调节压力的一种形式)”可知,本句承接上文继续介绍研究的积极发现:购物者比只看商品的人快乐三倍。故G选项“购物者比只看商品的人快乐三倍”符合语境,故选G。
2.根据上文“However, the side effect of retail therapy is unavoidable. (但是,购物疗法的副作用是不可避免的)”以及后文“But in time, it possibly grows into a trend that runs out of finances and causes conflicts, therefore adding a significant amount of stress to a person’s life.

4 .根据上文“For example, if you spend too much money on dining out on the weekends, stock your cupboard with groceries on Friday. (例如,如果你在周末外出就餐上花了太多的钱,那就在周五的时候在你的橱柜里装满杂货)”可知,上文提到了在周五的时候在你的橱柜里装满杂货,本句为本段最后一句,故承接上文说明这么做的作用:将鼓励你呆在家里做饭。故C选项“这将鼓励你呆在家里做饭”符合语境,故选C。
根据上文“Give up the need to keep up with your neighbors, co-workers, and friends. Everyone’s financial situation is different and it’s dependent upon a variety of factors, least of all being one’s self parison leads to debt. (放弃与你的邻居、同事和朋友保持联系的需要。每个人的财务状况都是不同的,这取决于各种各样的因素,最不重要的是一个人的自我价值。攀比导致负债)”可知,本句与上文并列,都是在说明攀比的不良影响:负债、对你已经拥有的感到不满。故E选项“你甚至对你已经拥有的感到不满”符合语境,故选E。

Jessica and Cayla were two sisters, who loved each other very much. They were not only sisters, but they were best friends, too. They liked to eat, play, go to school and do everything together. Nothing could break them apart!
One day, there was a running race competition at school. Both Jessica and Cayla were very fast runners and they were sure they would win if they signed up for it. They were very excited to participate together. And there were other friends too, who were all going to run.
The judge blew the whistle… toot!! Everyone started running. Jessica and Cayla were running as fast as they could. They were running so fast that they passed everyone in a very short time. The audience was cheering, “Look at the sisters. They are so fast, like lightening!” Hearing the cheers, they ran even faster. They barely looked at each other.
Suddenly Cayla hit a stone on the race track. She got hurt and fell down, with her leg bleeding. She called Jessica to stop and give her a hand. She groaned (呻吟) with pain. But Jessica wouldn’t stop or look. She guessed that Cayla just had a slight fall. She had only one thought on her mind. She had to win this race!
Jessica reached the finish line first. The judge announced, “You are the first, Jessica!” But, there was no applause from the crowd. Jessica was surprised. She had won but no one was clapping for her. She turned back to see if her sister Cayla was close behind her. But she was not there! Jessica was worried that something bad had happened.
