Strawberries are many people's favourite fruit and some people even want to try growing strawberries by themselves. Actually, the growth process of them is pretty long. Here is my observation of them.
The leaves of the seedlings gradually grow into larger umbrella-shaped leaves after they have been planted in the soil for two weeks. One month later, small buds begin to appear. The following process is a little longer. It takes about two months for the pistils to grow into real strawberries. And five days later, we can enjoy fresh mature strawberries.
Isn’t it interesting to watch the growth process of strawberries in person

Easy, Tasty Things to Grow in Your Fall Garden
Everything seems possible in the spring and early summer garden. ___1__The fall can be a fertile time, not just for harvesting long-awaited late-season tomatoes, eggplants and cucumbers. Try starting these fall garden plants now to recapture that delicious sense of possibility.
Greens
___2___ Think of those crisp early fall days as a repeat of the spring lettuce season. Sow seeds and pick young leaves to keep your lettuce growing until a hard frost puts a pause on salad days. Dark greens like kale and chard will continue to grow deep into the fall as well.
Carrots
___3___Try to plant a fall crop of carrots at least eight weeks before that. Carrots are one of those vegetables that love a little cold. So the frost can help them set their sweetness and earthy flavor. Usually, carrot seeds are tiny. ___4___ When the seedlings peek above the ground, thin them to make them less crowded.
Garlic
Garlic is a bulb, just like tulips or daffodils. Plant individual garlic cloves (one organic bulb from the grocery store will get you 7—8 plants) in the mid-fall. Then cover them with one inch of soil and a nice thick layer of mulch on top. Your garlic may grow out this year. ___5___
What do you harvest from your fall vegetable garden
A.Find out when your area’s first expected frost is.
B.Carrots are not only delicious but also nutritious.
C.Spring seems the best season for every plant to grow.
D.You’d better sow multiple seeds in loose soil six to eight inches apart.
E.But what if we could continue to grow food right up until that cold arrives
F.However, the real prize will be waiting for you when things warm up next year.
G.Lettuce is a most satisfying garden plant because it’s so easy to grow quickly from seed.

“What’s important ____3____ (know) is that all the big melt years have happened in the last two decades or so,” said Will, ____4____ researches ice sheets and oceans at NASA’ Jet Propulsion Laboratory. “That’s because the melt in Greenland is getting more extreme every decade due to human interference (干预) with the climate, like air ____5____ (pollute).” Willis and his team were ____6____ (surprise) by Greenland’s current melt.
As the climate warms and heat waves become increasingly extreme, major melting events are even happening at the ____7____ (island) typically cold summit (山顶). This summer, a couple of ____8____ (seriously) heat waves hit Greenland, noted Ted Scambos, an ice sheet expert at the University of Boulder Colorado. ____9____ even rained atop Greenland, at 10,551 feet. Scientists had never observed rain there before.
Before 1995, centuries would go by between major melt events at the summit, explained Scambos, referring to evidence from cores of ancient Greenland ice. Now, it _____10_____ (occur) a handful of times in recent decades.
