Lesson 1 Roots and Shoots

Teaching Process:
Step 1:Lead-in
1.Show students three pictures and let them predict what will be learnt in this lesson.
There are three pictures. What do you see in these pictures The first one is about a waste of time. The Second one is about a waste of electricity. The person in the third picture throws litter around.
2.Look at the pictures. Discuss the following questions.
What is happening in each picture
What other similar behaviors do you know
Have you ever done any of these things
What would happen if everybody did the same things

Leave the tap running while you brush your teeth.
Leave a light on when you go out.
Drop a piece of litter and cannot be bothered to pick it up.

Step 2:Pre-listening

Shoots seem small and weak, but they can
