A phrase “less screen time and more green time” is popular now. A study from the University of Adelaide found that more time outside and less time spent watching TV is connected with better psychological(心理的)results and school achievements among teenagers. Gardening is a great way to do so.
Jim Carter, a psychologist of America, is asking for teenagers’ return to traditional values of gardening, and thinks that they need to turn off the TV and go outside to do something healthier instead. Carter even considers it important to put gardening as a usual course because it is proven to be good for mental health.
“It’s physical exercise, and it teaches patience,” Carter explains. “The wait for a small sunflower seed(葵花籽)to become a six-foot plant is long.”
“I’m hearing that teenagers are struggling to deal with stress, and every time they open Gardeners’ World, they talk about how gardening helps them deal with stress. They learn so much about life, and so much about themselves through gardening,” said Lee Connelly, a teacher who is carrying out his own green school programme—Gardeners’ World. “The join of gardening into the class course for schools presents a remarkable chance to change education and the benefits are far beyond the classroom, influencing mental health, behavior and developing a lifelong love for horticulture(园艺).”
32. What does Carter suggest teenagers do
A. Do exercise at home. B. Go back to gardening.
C. Turn on the TV at night. D. Pay attention to psychological courses.

C. To show green time is hard to find. D. To explain gardening develops patience.
34. What can we say about Lee Connelly’s green school programme
A. It is meaningful. B. It is useless. C. It is costly. D. It is challenging.

Five minutes later, she came out and walked out of the cafe without looking back.
Mary saw the cellphone on the table. She quickly told Keith, “Keith, the girl left behind her cellphone.” Keith looked at the cellphone. It took his breath away. It was one of the latest models on the market. Keith had always wanted a cellphone. But his parents had told him, “You don’t need one. You can always use the house phone.” He stared at it for some minutes. Then, he said slowly, pausing on every word, “I want to take the cellphone.” Mary could not believe her ears. She only stared at her brother, “You can’t! What if the owner comes to look for it ”
After making the decision, Keith quickly got the cellphone and put it in his schoolbag. Then, he took Mary’s hand and led her out of the cafe quickly.

M: Oh, what else
W: I also bought two T-shirts, three skirts, four pairs of shoes, five summer dresses...
M: Enough! Do you have any idea how much money you spent
W: Yes, I know. But it’s worth the price. Now, I don’t have to buy any clothes, shoes or jewelry for at least six months.
M: OK, the shopping trip actually saved us money then
W: Yep. And since I won’t be going shopping for a long time, I will get a part-time job to help pay the bills.
(Tex t 10)
M: Hello, I’m Mr Clark. I want to tell you something about the school trip to the museum. Well, some people wanted to go on Tuesday, but that is a problem for me because there will be a teachers’ meeting here at lunchtime. And the museum is closed on Wednesday afternoon. That leaves Thursday. I hope that’s a good day for everyone. Now, there is a bus to take you from our school to the museum. To catch the bus, please come to school at 7:45. Don’t be late. Remember, it costs more to go into the museum alone. I suggest we go in a student group. We only pay $12 each. So we have a good price. But it’s important for everyone to get to school on time so that we can all go together. So, we can arrive at the museum before 9:00. OK

Dear Oliver,
I am writing to invite you and your family to my home for the celebration of the Chinese New Year’s Eve next Wednesday.
The New Year’s Eve is a very lively day. In the morning, we plan to do some “spring cleaning”, which is believed to sweep away the bad luck of the preceding year. And then, we will put up spring couplets to wish for a peaceful and happy new year. In the evening, we schedule are union dinner. After that, we will receive red packets, set off firecrackers and watch the Spring Festival Gala.
I am sure you and your family will have a good time.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节
One possible version:
That night, Keith turned over in bed from time to time. He had difficulty sleeping, uncertain about what he should do. Of course, he liked the new cellphone. However, he was feeling sorry for the owner. When he thought how sad the young lady would be at the loss of her cellphone, he was full of guilt and shame. The next morning, after a long and restless night, he was determined to return the cellphone to the owner. After school, he told Mary, “I am going to phone the owner.”
Mary was very happy to hear that. Back home, they phoned the owner’s house phone. A girl answered the phone. Kevin asked, “Are you the owner of the cellphone I’m Keith. I have your cellphone. Can you come and get it ” The girl replied “Yes” excitedly, expressing her gratitude repeatedly. Ten minutes later, she was at the same cafe to meet Keith. Handing back the cellphone to her and seeing her smile happily, Keith realized that honesty was indeed the best policy.
