If I had to live without my smartphone for a week,I would spend more time doing physical activities. For example, I could take my camera,go for a walk to the local park and take photos of interesting things. If the weather is not good, I would stay indoors and play some board games with my family. I could probably also spend more time studying or tidying up my bedroom. I might help my mother cook dinner too.
2. How do you understand the title of this blog post “Smartphone: a smart choice?” What’s the function of such a title (Critical thinking批判性思维)
There is a pun(双关) in the title. “Smart” in the word “smartphone” is a technical term meaning that the cell phone has some of the functions of a computer, for example, the ability to use apps and access the Internet. In the phrase “a smart choice”, the author questions whether using the smartphone is an “intelligent” choice. The use of the pun and question in the title is thought-provoking and appeals to the readers.
