2.在日常生活中学会急救的方法,提高帮助他人的意识。
Activity 1 Lead-in
In China,when dialing 110, you are asking police for help.
In China,when dialing 119, you are asking fireman for help.
In China,when dialing 120,you are asking doctor for help.
In groups,try to match the countries with the emergency numbers in textbook .

Activity 2 Match and discuss
Match the group below to the medical emergencies,and then discuss the questions in group.
Questions:
1.Have you ever called 120 If so,what happened
2.Would you call 120nfor the medical emergencies above
How wold you describe the situations
3.What are some other medical emergencies that you would call 120 for
specific address/cause of disease/disease time/contact information
Activity 3 Listen
Listen to a 999 call in England and answer the questions
Why did the boy call 999
Listen again.
Number the following instructions the operator
______Press down,twice a second.
______Check to see if there is food in his mouth.
______If your mother needs a break,change places.
_______Put him on his back.
______Remove any pillows.
______Tell your mum to put her hand in the middle of his chest.
Activity 3 In group,discuss the following questions.
How did the operator keep the boy calm
By telling him to calm down and calmly asking him questions.
What did the operator do to make this call a success
She asked only the questions necessary to clearly find out the problem,and then she provided short and clear instructions as to what to do.
What do you think happened after the ambulance arrived?
The doctor continued to provide CPR,took some blood pressure tests and temperature checking,while they transported him to the hospital.
Activity 4 Discussion
The pictures below show what to do rescue someone from drowning.In groups,discuss what is going on in each picture.Use the words given below.
Presentation
Giving first-aid instructions for rescuing a drowning victim
lay the victim on his back
check to see if he is breathing
lean his head back
remove any grass or sand from his mouth
perform mouth-to-mouth rescue breathing blow air in
check for response
shout for help;call 120
