Welcome to the unit
Classics can stand the test of time. Read the excerpts below from two famous works of literature and translate them together.
My meaning simply is, that whatever I have tried to do in life, I have tried with all my heart to do well; that whatever I have devoted myself to, I have devoted myself to completely; that in great aims and in small, I have always been thoroughly in earnest. — David Copperfield, by Charles Dickens
You can never have too much sky. You can fall asleep and wake up drunk on sky, and sky can keep you safe when you are sad. Here there is too much sadness and not enough sky. Butterflies too are few and so are flowers and most things that are beautiful. Still, we take what we can get and make the
best of it. —The House on Mango Street, by Sandra Cisneros
